This is an awesome tutorial. I have a few mica powders but had limited knowledge on their use so they have been sitting in my drawer for several years. These techniques really opened my eyes to the possibilities for their use. Going to break out those powders and play with these techniques. I will also have to try those pretty Nuvo Shimmers. Reuse the plastic wrap and sea salt. We think alike! For the sea salt I was thinking to reuse on another card but using the salt in a shaker card, brilliant. Such great ideas. Thank you for sharing these ideas.

Hi Gerry! I just can’t get enough of this video! This is about the 4th time I’ve watched this video! All these technics are so beautiful. Here’s a tip for you to add to your gorgeous backgrounds. When they are dry use a very tacky clear drying glue and trace along the waves of lines, smoosh these down with your finger. Then take pretty colored foils for hot foiling and press it into the tacky glue! Remember the foil is pressed into the glue, pretty side up! You have just created a beautiful foiled background! Please keep on creating and sharing!

Fabulous video. I have used mica in the past but gave up due to it rubbing off when dry. Do the ones you use have an additive to prevent that?
@karicoleman35482 жыл бұрын
I’d like to know that as well
@GerrysCraftRoom2 жыл бұрын
thanks💖 I don't believe it has, but I use them almost for all techniques pretty diluted and I do believe there is a bit less mica in these ones than in cheaper versions. It gives a lot of shine but it doesn't attach to paper that well, the pigment stays nice on paper. In the next video I will talk about this and try some things as a fixative
