Sasha, a long time ago, I saw a video where a woman showed how to make her own blending solution using the following recipe: 3 ounces 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and add 9 drops of vegetable glycerine (commonly found in pharmacy/drug stores). The blending solution which has glycerin really helps with the blending. I used some on my own channel but can’t remember which video! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I hope this recipe helps some of your subscribers. ♥️

Oh, that pink 'n' blue background reminded me of something you might see in a science-fiction movie...it looked like sky with a planet or moon in the distance. Actually, several of your backgrounds had that feel to them, for me at least. And I'm guessing that your re-inkers took so well to the front side of your photo paper because most printer ink is dye-based. At any rate, something new for me to try, too. Thanks, Sasha!

Photo paper, shave cream and swirled alcohol inks make interesting and glossy marble backgrounds too. I bought up loads of photo paper a few years back and l don’t know if l will use it all. Sharing it with a few of my crafty friends so we can try your ideas too. I love using layering stencils on the glossy photo paper too.

You can also layer the colours....when they dry, you can dip them again (on the front side, at least), with Distress Oxide or dye inks. Loads of fun!!

Pigment-based inks will never dry on glossy paper, even when you spray hairspray over it. The hairspray will disintegrate and the card recipient will get smeared with wet ink. Most metallics are pigment-based because they need to sit on top to reflect the light. Never “seal” things that are wet. Rubbing it off to reveal just the dye was a better idea. The main advantage of expensive alcohol inks is they stick to metal, ceramic, glass, acetate etc., so no need to waste them on paper. Here’s another fun idea: you can use your regular dye-based (not pigment or alcohol-based) inks and markers AFTER you have printed actual photos on that photo paper. Looks especially cool on B&W photos. And one more thing: good old-fashioned watercolors work the same way as your re-inkers, if you want a softer, more subtle look.

I’ve done this using distress oxides but over a stamped and embossed silhouette image ( landscapes , ocean scenes , sunsets, space themes etc ) and it’s amazing how quickly you get a wonderful card front . Also added die cut silhouettes and absolutely loved it 😍 it’s such a fun way to create and use up dyes , inks etc you have sitting in a drawer almost never used … When I think of all the photo paper I gave away because it was a pain buying photo quality refills for my printer when you could get a photo printed for under 20cents..I wish I had kept it 😐
