I made this dress a while ago and have had to contend with fit issues ever since. The skirt isn't big enough but the bodice is too big, which is just odd for me in garments. So the skirt flies open easily and the bodice back is so low in the back. I've been struggling to figure out how to make slight adjustments to make the dress wearable. At first I took in the shoulder seams. And then I decided to close up the skirt panels. I like your idea of adding buttons to cinch in the bodice back. I think that I will try that next. I love the fabric, and usually I don't have this many issues with Gertie's patterns. So I guess the lesson I learned is to make a mock up and don't assume the designer is consistent with fit across all patterns. Your dress turned out looking very nice. I love your fabric choice.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this pattern! Yes! I know what you mean...I almost gave up on this one. Haha!

I have the same problem with the gap. I have already thought about shortening the bodice (front and back) by 2,5cm. Do you thing it would work? I'm a size 2 (by her measurements table). Thanks for your video!

deltaflute03 - did you follow the finished measurements to choose your size?

@@erisphiliag Yes. I'm not sure what adjustments to make. I think it would be better to make a mockup and then make corrections.

@@deltaflute03 well, i finally gave up: i made a muslin and really don't know how to make it wearable. I think her patterns are not for everyone :(

I can't figure out how to do the back top of the swirl dress.

That was very hard for me too. I ended up adding buttons for better closure if I remember right. It wasn't my best work, but still a great project. Best of luck to you! Maybe Gertie's youtube channel has more tips because I totally deviated from her pattern with the buttons.
