August 18, 1977 Elvis funeral service at Graceland was followed by a ceremony and burial. A motorcade of 14 white Cadillacs with Elvis hearse driven by Trent Webb lined the streets from Graceland to Forrest Hill Cemetery.

I was 9 when Elvis passed on. He was soooo young. We all have a purpose in life and each of us comes with unique talents. Elvis gave us the gift of music, song and dance. Just about every male wanted to be him and lol every female wanted to marry him. I was lucky to have grown up with his music and still enjoy listening to it today. The first time I heard my daughter talk about him I was surprised but it brought a smile to my face. We have been fortunate enough to visit graceland, the feeling in and around the place is unbelievable, the wairua is serene, inviting and calming and you can feel his presence throughout. He was absolutely one of kind who shared his talent with the world. Music today comes and goes and seldom makes it through to the next generation. Real music has a way of carving a deep path from one generation to the next and into the future. The man and the music will live on forever. Thank you for the memories and the beautiful music. Thank you to his family who gave up soooo much of their family time so that we (the rest of the world) could be part of his life. I was and am an Elvis fan since 1975, I was born in 1968 and ever since I was able to hear him sing on my mothers (another huge fan) records, I was hooked. I even sang to all his songs and got to sound just like him and still do to this day; more so than a lot of other impersonators. I'm not to boast there will only be one Elvis.

Over the past 50-something years, I don't ever recall seeing any funeral procession receive this amount of attention or reverence. Not only did the Police Officers salute the hearse, but notice all the people lining the streets and all the cars and trucks at a standstill on the highway. Incredible. It speaks volumes to the amazing impact Elvis had on humanity. Though Elvis was _in_ this world, I don't believe he was _of_ this world. He was extraordinary.

As I grew older is when I really started realizing what an unbelievable loss the world had taken on August 16th 1977. His voice just grabs you and makes you realize how beautiful he was. My son's middle name is Presley. I went to Elvis candlelight 1997 to pay my respects.Wish I was mature enough at 11 to understand what we had lost. There will NEVER be another. RIP

In the funeral procession the yellow corvette was Ron, he was Elvis pilot. He flew Elvis plane the Lisa Marie. The police told him they needed a outstanding car to be the last car to turn into the cemetery. So Ron stood out in the yellow corvette. He bought himself the car with all the tips Elvis had given him for flying him places. When Elvis saw the car he said who’s car is that? Ron told him it was his. Elvis loved it. Elvis loved cars.
