1. Always wear a helmet 2. Check your bike for maintenance 3. Maintain a safe distance 4. Use hand signals 5. Extra visibility (bright colors, headlights and tail lights, vests) 6. Never counterflow 7. Obey traffic rules 8. Be aware of blind spots (especially trucks) 9. Let the trucks pass 10. It's bike to work, not race to work

Actually ginawa po namin ito madalas wala lang mas nakaka relax mag bike tsaka at the same time minsan pag pagod kana dahil sa music ginaganahan ka pero kahit ginagawa namin yan aware kami sa paligid namin tsaka never pa kami na aksidente dahil jan pero hindi ko ito recommended lalo na sa mga baguhan palang kami kasi hindi naman kami baguhan pero hindi rin kami mga expert or professional passion ko lang ang cycling kaya sanay tsaka may knowledge din kahit papaano hehe pero again not recommended po yan

Napakagandang safety tips. Pero, isa sa solution din na naisip ko is defensive driving. Natutunan ko yan sa pagmamaneho ng kotse and I can apply it also when commuting with MTB. Payo ko din sa iba siklista, kung madalas ang pagliko-liko nyo sa daan, much better kung maglagay ng side mirror. Dahil pag makalingat ka lang ng sandAli sa harap mo dahil gusto mong sumenyas sa nasa likod mo, pag tingin mo sa harap, ayun muntik ka nang maaksidente. No one can avoid accidents, because we all know that people here in metro manila are not disciplined, not following traffic rules, and not law abiding citizens. What we can apply is BEING DEFENSIVE CYCLIST AND DRIVER.

Thanks po sa tips, hirap din kasi sa Pinas, I'm from Quezon Province at most routes kailangan talaga dumaan sa Main Roads. 2 lanes lang mga karsada, bihira may bike lane or even shoulders, yung pavement pa ay mataas, kaya delikado tumabi if ever magitgit ka kasi either mahulog ka or dumulas gulong mo. Dami times na may nag oovertake sakin na halos kadikit ko na, minsan malalaking trucks pa. Pinaka kinatatakutan ko ay yung mga "playing chicken" na drivers, yung mag oovertake sa lane nila na kasalubong mo, na parang di ka nag eexist at wala sila kasalubong kung sakupin nila yung lane para magcounterflow to overtake. Di ko naeenjoy talaga pag sa main road dumadaan kasi nakadikit lang lagi ako dun sa solid white line as in, kaya nag Gravel bike na ako, kahit bumaba ng karsada at pumedal sa putik at batuhan buhay pa din ako.

Para sakin, malaking bagay na ilagay mo sarili mo sa mga nagmamaneho/motor. (Put yourself in their shoes ) Isipin mo ano ung galawin nila, tapos IKAW mag adjust. Kung nagmamaneho ka o motor noon dapat alam mo na to, pero kung pure kapadyak ka, malaking bagay din mag A1 o Honda motor school para lang karagdagan kaalaman sa kalsada.
