Good question. Discovering Buddhism is a 14 module program designed by the FPMT. This program is not designed as an academic study of Buddhism but is intended to change a person's life. Each Discovering Buddhism module consists of lectures, readings, meditations, short retreats, quizzes, optional assessments, and a final exam. Students can do some or all of these components of each course, as they wish and are interested. A Certificate of Achievement for each individual module is issued upon completing all the requirements. An FPMT Discovering Buddhism Completion Certificate is issued when a student has completed the requirements for all fourteen modules. Living in the Path is also an FPMT education program, taught by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, spiritual director of the FPMT. However, the long-term goal is to also draw from the teachings of Lama Yeshe so as to offer a program that preserves the entire FPMT lineage. This program is ideal for anyone who wishes to deepen their personal practice and develop the realizations of the path to enlightenment by relying on Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s heart advice and teachings. However, as the teachings often assume familiarity with the lamrim (the stages of the path), participants are recommended to have previously received teachings in this Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The LamRimChenmo course is a two-years residential study program at Nalanda Monastery (2021-2022), and also offered on-line.
