De bouw van het Gesloten Distributie Systeem Groen is vrijwel afgerond. Vanuit de lucht is het transformatorstation goed te zien, inclusief de twee (groene) transformatoren.
Acht windparken van Windplan Groen, maar ook het zonnepark van Flevonice, leveren hun elektriciteit aan het GDG, dat vervolgens de elektriciteit omzet naar doorstuurt naar het naastgelegen (nieuw gebouwde) onderstation van TenneT-Liander.
