I am a second year CSE student. At the end you said that Consistency is the most important thing. I totally agree with you . 5 months ago even I was having 0 connections but by maintaining consistency today I have 500+ connections. Initially it was a boring task that each and every day you have to send a connection request and no one use to accept connection requests and now I even receive connection requests so I suggest you to not stop and build a network.
