Important note: You can learn the mirror's purpose via a note in Shadowhearts hidey hole that'll let you skip the religion and arcana check, *however* on my playthrough it didn't give me the Stelamane message on any of the options so I had to reload and do the arcana check and then I got it Edit: after doing it in patch 6 I could read the note and get the stelamane line. Also I could retry giving up a memory as often as it needed to get the +2 memory

Thanks for that. I was stumped on my second playthrough why the option to identify wasnt there and I had in fact gone to the night orchid cave first. I don't know how the RNG goes but I got stuck with laezel never getting a +2 but getting the stelmane message every time I passed the prayer check and that's the one character that got no benefit from CHR for me. Had to run another character through mirror then back to laezel. Could have been coincidence but it was 7 or 8 times in a row

@@ltraltier6009 first either succeed the arcana check or read the note in sharts hideout, you should have an option to pray and a religion check. Pray first till you get the stelamane message then you can do the religion check for +2 stats

Tips. Make a human bard hireling. then you can get +14 religion skill. whit bard inspiration. and more. I have +5 int, 1d8 bardic , +1 ring , religon +4, religion expertise + fox cunning or guidance 1d4. total bonus 15-22. 🙂 you can make 2-3 hireling like this and do this in 1-2-3. cost 300g you can steal back so free. Maybee less time then save/load.

Failed the religion check and never got to even try the mirror. On my third playthrough on tactician, this 25 skillcheck is just as bullshit as trying to convince the second demon to help you during the raphael fight. Just to find out i can have hope banish him on turn 1 anyway.

One thing important is that it won't let you exceed the maximum which for me was 24. So if you're already at 22 and tried to get the 1 and 2, your 1st buff will get replace by the 2nd buff instead of getting all of them.

I cannot examine it, because Arcana and Religion (to examine it) are not shown to me. Only "Gaze into the Mirror" and " Religion: Pray", the very 1st time I click it, with Shadowheart in my party. Also having explored everything and read every little note in the area. EDIT: As the other comments are saying, the reason for that seems to be a particular note on the Night Orchid cave, which already explained how to mirror works. MOREOVER, I received the +1 to Charisma!! (Save scumming, no need to pass any Arcana check!)

You do not need to multi class at all to destroy the game. A fully level sorcerer is one of the most OP classes in the game.

Took 100 hrs for first play through, intentionally left some quests unplayed for next play through, going to approach each act slightly different this 2nd time, and I decided to do durge, I’m probably going to just go full evil this time and likely piss all my companions off. I don’t like save scumming, I try to just play through and let it play out how the RNG gods decide. This is the first game for me in a while (maybe since The Witcher 3) that I’ve gotten this much enjoyment out of and actually looking forward to replaying and doing things again. I can not get enough of it!

Because at the end the absolute said : " we delivered him by killing one of 3 stone's owner".... The more funny zone was the Raphael s house, and the fight against him !

With this and ethels hair, you can get your charisma to a whooping 24 points. Adding a +7 modifier. Sorcerers, warlocks and bards rejoice.

The religion check that is the alternative to arcana is a lower DC (20, not the prayer) but I didn't manage to get the +1 with it (tried 6 times for 3 companions), and after reloaded and passing with the arcana check I got it on the first try (twice in a row), not sure if it's indicative or not.

To the 1+ charisma you need to get the gortach line, you can get it on gaze on the mirror or religion check, remember save 2 options for religion check to get the 2+bonus (just dont care for -2 just rest or dispell)

If you only get the religion check option and end up giving shar a part of you and get nothing in return(there's a chance) . You can still talk to it and give apart again and there's a chance you get something. Ex: I gave con, got nothing, did it again, gave necromancy, and got plus 4 to char. So you can do this multiple times to try to roll the best so that you get the least taken away, but the most given. Don't know if this helps or not, but yeah this was my experience

So for some reason I only have two options when my Tab interacts with the mirror. Those choices are : "Gaze into the mirror to offer a memory" & "[religion] offer a prayer to the mirror. So should I skip the prayer and just gaze into it first?

If you killed the lady from the room before and didn't let her go you won't get arcana. If you killed her it only offers religion. Just found out myself through different save files.

With this, I got to 24 Charisma. The +3 charisma total here together with auntie hair it gives +4 at top of normal 20. I somehow got Gortash line as the first so I didn't have to save scum even once.

It seems you can pass the arcana check with any character, but for the +2 buff you have to pass the prayer check with the character you want to buff. Passing the prayer check did not give me the option to buff another character - just the one that passed the check.

Number one fact if you offer arcane knowledge to the mirror of loss you will lose Don McCabe you can no longer um in goalies if you offered that memory Fax number two I've tested this if you offer your highest attribute your most important attribute for your class general or highest you will immediately be rewarded with the choice to increase any of the stats by +2 That is how it actually works if you offer your best offer offering your most important gift your most important memory to the mirror of loss then you get you the reward

If you gotten that far in the game without that boost, then there's really no need to bother with it because the game is almost over anyway and you don't need it to finish the final battle. There's really nothing between that and the final battle anyway.

This is probably too late to be useful but, respec your characters. Give them high Intelligence and whatever other bonuses you can. Once you do the Mirror, respec back to whatever you want them to be.

The arcana check is the first time you speak with the mirror act 2 or 3 only to understand it, then you can do 5 times gaze to try to get the gortach line(1+cha) then 2 pray(religion) to get the 2+ ( you can get the gorrach line there also)

This mirror is so confusing... I don't have the Arcana or Religion options. My only options when I interact with it are Gaze and Leave. I was able to get the +1 Charisma bonus from the Stelmane response quickly, but no matter how many times I reload I couldn't get the +2 bonus until I gave up the Necromancy memory, meaning I lost the Create Undead spell from the Necromancy of Thay book. I still got the +2 bonus on my main character but I can't seem to get it for my companions, just the +1 Charisma.

So as for patch 5, the mirror works differently now. You can only gain plus 2 to ability of our choosing. It doesnt give you th 1 charisma anymore. BUT I managed to get plus 2 on all my characters except Shadowheart (maybe it works for her too, I just did not tested it) Sooo with my main character, i did not bother with the religion check, just offered the knowledge of the necromancy book, gained 2 charisma. Then with Gale, paaed the religion check, gained 2 inteligence. With Karlach, since she had pretty bad int, i respec her into a wizard, passed the check, pick plus 2 str, then recpec her again inte my previous build. The buff was still there :)

I found out when you offer up debuffs, meaning the options that curse you, you need to choose stats that you have a plus. Don’t choose dump stats.

I heard i should have passed both Arcana and Religion check, i was so afraid of this cause my party all have 8 Int only, but then when i arrived here, the only option they gave me was the DC20 religion check (Offer a prayer to the Mirror), thats it, i sacrificed Forbidden Knowledge, passed the religion check and get the +2 stat bonus while still had the Forbidden Knowledge.. I was just wondering tho, why i didnt get that Arcana Check and that other one Religion check ? Just out of curiosity ? Is it patched ?

Doing so removes the need to do the initial check in arcana or religion, which you would need to pass in order to gain the bonuses. So now the only check needed is the “religion: offer a prayer” one.

The mirror is Broken since 3.0 and yu can only use actually if yu go with Shadow in the dark Path becouse if yu go in the Light yu will not get to use it.. yu can try but i dont advice if yu are in her light path just forget it and evrything will be ok.. huahauhauha (fun Fact theres another of these inside the Gountlet if yu really bother to explore the entire thing.. but its shattered yu cant use too.)

+1 CHA is gained by getting the proper response which is random. +2 to ability of your choice is gained after passing the prayer check and then choosing. Ability debuffs go away with Remove Curse and Long Rest.

You can get to 20 through ability improvement then the +1 from Ethel, the +2 potion from the drow lady and +2 from the mirror for up to 25. I would say try to get to 20 strength by feats first so you can pass the 20 strength mark otherwise if for example you use the hair first it wont let you put an extra point through the ability improvement system because it caps at 20

If you go in Shadowheart's hidey hole and read a book about the mirror you learn about what the mirror is for and don't need those checks. No clue if it affects the +1 cha or not

okay I see it is already one month ago you wrote this: anyway - you can save scum - even you never get this high of a score in your case 25 - what you need to get is a roll of 20 - (it must be the 20 not added anything) as it is a 'critical sucess' - even if you would need 30 - if you roll 20 it is always a 'critical sucess'. But it is quite boring to do such save scum as it may need long time untill you finally get a 20! On the other side a 1 is always a critical failure.

You can use a feat to increase it to 20 before using the mirror, and that will get you to 23. The feat has to come first though, because that will not go higher than 20.

If you get the actor feat followed by ability score improvement that'll get you to 20 then consume the hag buff for 21 so when you get the mirror you'll have 24
