there are dedicated buttons in Ninja V right in the menu you've been surfing through. called "compare" pressing it would split the screen for vivid result. But somehow you missed it.

You don't need the LUT because the Ninja V already has an HLG preview mode. Go into the Monitor settings and you'll see preview options for HLG & PQ which allows you set a perfect exposure.

I feel like your input should have been Rec2100 or Rec2020 if your filming HLG - otherwise your not taking advantage of all of that 10bit color - or am i wrong in my thoughts on this?

@sebriouxproductions2 жыл бұрын
When it says than the GH5 can output 4k 60p through the HDMI port, it does't seems to be 4k but UHD. Am I right? My Ninja V sees UHD 60 and not 4K as an input. Thanks!

Hi Caleb, txs for this great tutorial, again! Love your channel. Pls. allow me to add that the "HDMI Time Code Output" (under "Time Code" in the video settings) has to be set to "on". Otherwise "HDMI recording Control" will be grayed out. And you want to have that stored in one of the customer settings in each and every of your cameras. Gee, you can't imagine how often I've messed up things until I started to use the customer settings.

Out of curiosity, are you thinking of getting the h265 codec for your Ninja? I'm in two minds. Its great for file sizes while I'm away from home for a week or more, however its a pain in the arse for editing.

Hey Caleb. Need your help brother. What I see on my ninja looks quite different than on GH5 monitor. Recorded video reflects the same. Hoping I don't have to buy a calibrater. Wondering also if there are ninja firmwares that work better with GH5. Alsooo..... Sorry wondering if ninja should automatically detect the GH5 as opposed to entering Panasonic in Camera input setting. Preciate any help.

The best thing about HLG is that its almost perfect straight away, with virtually no tinkering about with the Saturation. May I ask if you have noticed any difference shooting ProRes LT compared ProRes 422 HQ? Apart from the difference in file size, have you noticed a difference in image quality? I have my Ninja set up slightly different to yourself. I still have my camera set up the Lemming LUT specifications, for vLOG rather than HLG, but the end result is still the same if I use HLG. I then have the appropriate Panasonic conversion LUT plugged into my Ninja. You can still use your Leeming Lut. The Zebra threshold on the Ninja is set up as specified by Leeming LUTS. And here's the interesting thing that I've discovered. If I view footage on my Ninja, I use the Panasonic conversion LUT, but I DO NOT bake the Lut into the footage. I then use the full range of the Waveform, from the bottom to the top on the Ninja as well as using the Zebras, which are set to Lemming specifications. The Ninja does some magic calculations when using the Waveform, to view a LUT image, and allows me to expose footage using the full range of the waveform as if I was shooting with a LUT, but the Zebras are set to Leeming specs. The GH5 waveform is completely different, more condensed, and shows lower levels but I completely ignore the GH5 waveform. Its great for good exposure if I don't have my xRite Passport with me. My footage is still captured as vLog or HLG and not with a Lut baked in.

I like using ProRes LT for file size and from what I've noticed, the difference in quality isn't enough to go to ProRes HQ. I feel like for what I'm shooting and where the videos are being distributed, mostly social, it's more than enough. love editing with ProRes
@frankinblackpool3 жыл бұрын
@@CalebHoover Hi, its good to know that the ProRes LT files are good quality because HQ files are massive. It's not as if I do this for a living and I only show my stuff on YouYube Land. Cheers.😀
