Exactly. I improved my Listening from 6.5 to 8.5 only by reading more in English. Anything whether a book, an article, or the audio script as you said. All can help. If a candidate has poor reading speed and comprehension, he or she can't understand the question and cannot find the correct answer. Good luck!

It’s strikingly obvious from what you wrote that you have no adequate grammar. Grammar is the backbone. Do this first. Don’t rush.

@@Me_in_Canada2k24 sure..after your listening test u will match with the answer sheet. Then play the audio again and after a sentence or middle of a sentence take paused and write down their dialogue on your paper.. Take time,,repeat the audio again and again.

Good morning being an online tutor I always recommend my students this tip to on the captions while listening on you tube to understand the pronunciation of difficult words which you didn't understand once but don't make it as your habit firstly try to understand own yr own if you don't get then on the captions .

I have 0 issues with understanding accents. But I struggle to keep up with long dialogues and pick up the words to write. I lose focus for a split second and by the time I recover, I miss a few questions. What do I do? I have the same issue with maps. I am very bad with directions and by the time I figure out one thing I miss out on the others.

I feel like I sometimes usually focus too hard on a specific word that I either miss out on what was said or miss out on the opportunity to decipher the implicit meaning from the statement. Do you have any suggestions to counteract this?

what i do is that...i just right down those words once...in case i miss out by thinking upon the previous ones...so once i finish listening the audio or get time in between, i read the sentence and see which word suits the best...just write the words if you getting to confuse, don't think much because your brain will divert itself from the audio...

Have you done IELTS and had a score of band 9 in listening?. One in 1000 get the score of band 9 in listening. It is not that everyone who goes for the test is not well prepared. Some end up with luck and guess.

Your idea is wrong may be its works for some but not for all, looking audio scripts during listening is like a writing answer from answer sheet and it trigger our brain to used it every time we listen but in exam day you will not have those scripts that time your brain will definitely get blasted by not having so called subtitles

No. But you've to be active while listening. You must, 3 to 4 questions, bear in mind and should focus what they saying. Sometimes they add additional information which isn't useful or to write answer but you have to be present so that you can't miss the answer. Which they may discuss about Further.
