The canon L glass can have a zoom lens that doesnt shift F stops when you adjust the focal length. For talking head stuff, 35mm prime is where its at. Theres a video out there that shows what different focal lengths does to your face. Different focal lengths can make your face look fatter or slimmer... its crazy. Only problem with a low aperature setting is that you have a like only a few inches of depth. If you have a fixed (non auto) focus if you move out of the sweet spot you're gonna have a bad time. Good explanation of how to do this!

Hey thank you! Anytime I think about focal length changing the look of your face I can see that old video from years back, I think it’s a Full time film maker video. 35 is the perfect spot! On my 20mm I digitally crop in to get about a 30-35mm look sometimes.

It was sitting in a box for days waiting for me until last night. What a great word search "puzzle" book. As soon as I finish typing this comment I am going to order another one to send one to my sister. She is interested in making content and I believe she will find this book both entertaining and useful in grasping a better understanding of photography jargon.
