As the pet passport can be done by any vet in the EU it could be worth finding one which does a 3yr booster just in case you aren’t travelling each year or it’s not convenient when you’re in the EU.

Hi and thanks for commenting, yes worming is required 5 days before but a minimum of 24 hours before arrival in the uk 🐾🐾

Hi guys. We are french resident and obtained an EU pet passport for our dog after brexit, but the rules are that you need a french address and need to register your dog with the french authorities. Our french vet told us they cannot issue passports to U.K. pets now. It’d be worth checking with each country in the EU to see if further registrations are necessary in case it’s an EU wide rule, there maybe insurance implications aswell. 👍🏻

Hi Ian , thanks for the info 👍 as we mentioned, France is probably the harder place to sort a passport , but Belgium ( at present ) are happy to issue and no implications , it may change and of course worth keeping up to speed 👍🐩🐩🐾🐾🙂

No problem. French vets were issuing them but were told to stop by the authorities. So not sure whether it’s an EU wide thing or down to individual countries, who knows 😀. Brexit has a lot to answer for! Safe travels.

Followed your first eu pet passport vlog and as your aware we got one in February for dave the dog, i dont know if you can remember, but i asked you about European liability insurance for dogs travelling to Denmark, and what you copied and pasted me was correct, as in only really required for a resident dog, well if you're interested or any of your subscribers, I've obtained, European dog liability insurance for ( drum roll) £12,50p a year if 60 years old, ( owner not dog 🤣😂) or £25 if under through dogs trust, anyway another informative vlog, keep them coming 👍.

You are welcome. We used them to get into Romania and Bulgaria, at that point not full EU members. No issues entering or exiting back into the uk. Our passports have been shown over dozens of borders with no problems at all. Titer testing is going to be your only issue trying to return to EU after visiting countries like Montenegro/Albania

Hi Mike, yes the worming is still required no more than 5 days prior to return journey and no less than 24 hours , but only needed for return journey .. and yes ! Clutching at straws and a few more vinyls in the rack 👌👌❤️

Great video with good information, however your Abbeywell pricing is way out. 3 years ago it was £99 first time and has subsequently been £69 for a repeat each time we go back. It does mount up, and a passport is the most cost effective if you're happy to travel over for the booster when due.

Great video I thought of doing one as there is so much confusion over this and it’s actually very simple. We got our two sorted in Spain 2 years ago €75 all in! Here’s a question for you… if they need revax on say 7th may and you travel out on 1st May return on 15th would you be comfortable with this? I guess no reason why not but imagine for some reason you can’t get boosted in that time. Would Pet Control even allow you to travel knowing the booster runs out during your trip? I know over thinking but I have my reasons 😂

If we were in your senario, I think I’d feel confident it could be dealt with, BUT I’d never run it that close, just incase of unfoseen problems. Ours are due to be boosted next November, but I’m going to get them done 6 months early just so we can stay relaxed

Oh, no! I don't think I'm willing to have my dog vaccinated again so soon. Her rabies shot was only 2 years old but she was revaccinated last month to simplify the International Health Certificate process to get her in to Germany when we move there this month from the US. I'll have to research and find out if the European vax is safer than the US. 🤞🏽Thanks for the detailed information.

Hello, thank you for the information. We are going through this process now. Have you ever need a Titre Test 30 days after your first Rabies vaccine? Our dogs have had their first rabies vaccination a couple of weeks ago, and then we were told we would need to wait 30 days before we get a Titre test. and then another 90 days before entering Turkey (we'll be travelling through europe by car and down in to Turkey). Which means we have had to postpone our trip. Have you ever entered Turkey or had any experience of needing a Titre test? Or do you not need one if you have the 2 rabies vaccines in the EU passport please?

Great video, exactly the info i needed to get my EU Pet Passport while we are in Spain in April 2025. Can i just ask, the "bit of paper / certificate", is this just the receipt when paying for rabies vaccination, which details this? I asked Vet for a certificate and they advised, NO CAN DO! Just had rabies vacc done this morning and vet would only give the vacc bottle (still with sticker) and an updated vaccination book (hand written and signed). We have a house in Spain so no issues getting the EU Pet Passport once we are there (i hope).

Oh that’s odd, we’ve been given a rabies certificate for all 3 dogs first ever rabies vaccination in the UK (different practices) However as long as it’s signed off in the general vaccination record book it should be ok and you have the label from the bottle. Your dog will end up having another rabies vac in Spain that will be recorded in their passport . Happy travels x

The animal health certificate is fine 🙂 but you need one each time, a pet passport will save a lot of money 🙂👌 much easier and cheaper 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
