I just wanted to say thank you. 5 years later and this is still very helpful. The online directions make it appear you only turn it a couple times and the disc should come out. Watching you say how long it actually takes saved me from giving up and just shipping it off to Sony.

Hey thanks! The first video I watched didn't show well how to get the cover off the HD so this was nice to see that done properly. Also, didn't say that you had to turn that screwdriver a ton either and so I was bummed for awhile until I watched this one that showed it took awhile. Thanks! Both videos don't show the screw needing to be retightened afterwards, so I'm assuming it just turns the rollers but doesn't tighten or loosen anything. Appreciate the help!

I had to buy a tool kit as I didnt have a screw driver that would fit in the gap you mentioned but once I brought one that fit it was so easy to do. It was my bo3 disc that was stuck and all my games I do have are disc copies. I was close to buying another ps4 since I still have the orginal one but you've just saved me money on having to buy a new. At first I didnt know what was going on but I cant thank you enough for this info and right in time for the 2nd week of the beta for BO4.

Me Me I have same problem and it just happened about a half hour ago I had it since launch as well without this ever happening my disc didn't even want to go into the system beforehand I'm hoping I don't have to send it the Sony USA headquarters in California to get it out and replace that disc drive if that has stoped working correctly.

TronicsFix Does this trick work on the launch 500 gb PS4 models because I have one of those and just happened to me about a half hour ago after working fine since I got it back when Batman Arkham Knight came also my disc didn't even want to go into the system itself if that helps you understand my problem any better. I really hope that I don't have send it Sony's USA headquarters out in California to get this fix at this time of year since I might not have the money right now to paid the bill if they charged me to fix this or get the part that's broken replace. Ok never mind I just check what my PS4 model number is and it's part of 1100 series on your left/my right in terms of you recording and me watching this video now I just have to try it out when I have the time.

This guy is awesome! I have a couple tips in case anyone else has the same problem(s). I have the 1200 model and after i slipped the hard drive out, it was really hard to see the screw in the hole, just make sure u feel it catch, then my felt was really stiff from being so old. You may need to seperate it a bit. And after i slipped the hard drive back in i powered up and it couldnt read the hdd, so make sure ur hard drive is snug in there and everything should be good

There is nothing stuck in my PS4, but it would not except my disk when I tried to put it in there so I guess my rollers were just jammed so basicly moved them around a bunch with the screw and now it works fine again. Thxs! Also one question. Do I have to put the screws back to where I think it was or does it not matter since it works differently than the normal screw. I solved the problem by shaking the PS4 upside down (not too strong) while touching the extract button (if the extract button doesn't work, remove the case and touch directly the copper piece which is extracting the cd). The game will get out little by little. That was the easy solution, but not the real one. To make sure it will never happen again, you have to extract the cd player of the PS4, and to clean the little rolls inside it. The problem is that those rolls are not clean or even not in place so the cd can't be put in or out normally. If you want a video of this, TronicsFix shows how to do in his video where he tried to repair 12 PS4.
