Good video, one important thing to add about CO selection is how the presence of pre-deployed naval units will affect CO powers. Specifically Rachel, Von Bolt, and Sturm. I have found that when I am playing against one of these COs on a map that has landers and black boats, I can often use them to create the highest concentration of unit value exactly where I want to and minimize the effectiveness of their powers.

Great videos! I just learned about AWBW a few days ago when looking for a way to get my AW nostalgia fix and I'm instantly addicted. 2:52 The more bases there are, the more Kindle stops being tier 3 and becomes tier 2. Never thought much of her until I started playing matches against human players.

8:00 chad transportcopter spotted I would like a follow up to this video about co analysis and which one wants to stall and which one doesnt. Like tier 2 seems the most straightforward in this regard, but like who would want to stall between drake and andy or jake and adder. Its not obvious in that regard. Also at 24:56 you are showing jess as a stalling Co. Jess could be a stally Co for the same reasons Max is a stally Co. For me Jess is rather aggressive. Nice video, seems a little like a power point presentation though.

I would’ve loved to do that, but it’s hard to get too deep into concepts like that (going over every single MU) without making the video super long. It might just be better for a separate video.

To my understanding, there isn't always a COs that is more stallier than another... Like Jake vs Adder, none of them is better late game, at least it doesn't seem to me. Jake can have better late game with lots of indirects on a death ball, but at the same time Adder could use his powers to break the deathball and destroy the indirects. I think tier 4 specially is one where COs are all that different (Jess is a bit OP because most maps don't favor Copters enough and Infantry firepower doesn't matter all that much, but still she's not even close to any tier 3 CO, other than maybe... Sonja? 😂). Also I play a lot of Rachel and she's supposed to be stallier than say Kindle, but everytime an Andy tries to be a bit too aggressive midgame, I try and use Lucky Lass, and boy did I get some ridiculous leads out of this... The extra firepower in the right situation (and with some luck) can really turn the tide of the game very early on. Drake though probably is the stalliest CO of tier 3 because of global damage, Olaf also is a stall ball, even against Eagle sometimes, mostly you just get enough damage to cripple his LS, but in the end everytime you super you get 20% of their army, while Lightning Strike doesn't get much (or as much) if you don't have adequate setup (also vs Olaf you're generally LSing into Winter Fury, which sucks big time, you can hold on to it, of course, but then Olaf is already charging the next one, feels bad tbh). By that logic Kindle should be kinda stally, but her damage is easily avoided, for the most part, and her terrain advantage comes most handy early game (just like Lash).

@@raven-a yea, in T4 it's a bit less noticeable, but one could argue Jess has the better late game, since she has the better Neotanks, followed by Jake, and then Adder. Simply because of the firepower.

Really really great video! I had 1 question. Can you please explain the definition of a mixed base map and give a few global league standard maps that you consider to fit this category? This is awbw definition. I get a bit confused so thought I'd clarify. Mixed Base - Maps that feature a "mixed" base pattern. These are often characterized by one or more bases that are responsible for more than one front and are sandwiched between opponents' bases.

It's when some of your bases aren't connected, and instead some enemy bases might be in the way between your bases. This results in MANY fronts on the map. A few examples of Mixed Base maps are: Caustic Finale, End of Entropy, Spring in General.
