I struggled with barre chords in the early days also. A great tip I received was to use a capo on (say) 3rd fret and play the chords as you would with no capo…there is less tension on the strings with a capo so they are easier to push down. Try the F chord with a capo on 3rd or 5th fret, it will be easier and will keep you motivated to keep trying.

Similar chords. Walk don’t run are all major. Hit the road Jack has an Am and E7. But when played as power chords they are the same. Just realized that. Thanks for your comment!
