A good regripless setup for RU is Rw’ U’ R U M2 U’ R’ U Rw, so it’s basically replacing the x rotation with a Rw move in order to avoid regrips. You can apply this same system for RF and RD as well. Another alternative for RF and RD is setting it up to RB and doing the RB alg because doing that shortens the regrips from 4 to 1 as a rotation causes 2 regrips and you’ll have to rotate back anyway so it’ll end up being 4 regrips which is bad. The above 2 paragraphs applies to the lefty mirror setups as well. Another good parity alg is M2 U’ M U2 M U’ M’ U2 M’ U2 or U’ F2 U M2 U’ F2 U Even though they’re faster algs than the D’ L2 ... alg, it’s better and faster to do the UL-UB swap instead but you can’t use this technique for multi-blind so you have to resort to using the parity alg. However, if you plan on doing multi-blind seriously and also plan on using M2/OP for a long period of time, then instead of doing the parity alg, it’s faster to do a 2e2e alg. Timothy Goh made a great tutorial on 2e2e. Optional: Josh Weimer has a great Advanced M2 tutorial playlist if you want to optimize M2 as much as possible, however i only recommend this if you plan on using DF as your 3-style edge buffer in the future (which i don’t recommend because UF is the best 3-style edge buffer). I hope this helped at least some beginners out there Thanks for taking your time to read this :)

Thank you a lot, but one stupid beginner question: what do for example mean with UL or UB? I know that it kind of discribes the pieces you swap, but I don't know exacly what it means.
@JackCaiCubing4 жыл бұрын
I am aware of the other algs/setups but I think it would really be worth looking into until you're something like sub 1 at least (in which case one would've likely) transitioned to 3-style already). Having said that though it can be good to look into some of that stuff if you were to use DF as your buffer and it'd act as a good transition.

UL refers to the piece on the Upper face on the Left (hence UL), in WCA orientation, that's the white of the white orange piece
@robosapien3144 жыл бұрын
@@JackCaiCubing Thanks, so UR for example means the white red piece? And if I have 3 letters it's a corner?

What do you think of using comms for I and S using standard setup moves? Josh Weimer explains it in his advanced M2 video, and I'm thinking of learning that instead of bothering with the standard I and S algs. Also, algs in description? Thanks :)
@JackCaiCubing4 жыл бұрын
I feel like it's only worth learning such techniques once you reach maybe sub 1 (in which case people would've started learning 3-style by then typically). I think there's also the fact that you need to use the standard algs if both targets are on the M slice anyway. I put all the algs in the description :)

@JackCaiCubing4 жыл бұрын
If you don't average a minute (before learning 3-style), switch to a simpler method and work down to that first. If you already do, then there isn't any other way to reach an advanced level without 3-style. Having said that, there are different ways to approaching learning 3-style that might be worth experimenting with in order to find one that works for you

It's better to not use a parity alg at all and just do a memo swap for the two top layer pieces that swap. Also most of the time you can avoid doing those algs for I and S using a neat trick*. *search KZbin for "advanced M2"
@JackCaiCubing4 жыл бұрын
At least from my perspective, I feel like that's only really worth looking into once someone's perhaps like low 1/sub 1 in which case people would've transitioned into learning a method like 3-style already. Having said that though, out of curiosity, did you find that memo swap helped your edge memo? (since it always results in an even no of targets)
@AnthonyRochester4 жыл бұрын
@@JackCaiCubing well the advanced M2 stuff is easy to learn and saves quite a lot of moves. I'm not sub 1 and I'm doing M2/3style. I can't really say if the memo swap makes a big difference but it doesn't take long to get used to doing it and then you don't have to think about parity so much when you're executing.
