This is a really good video, thank you! About ironing your costume though, obviously at least half of the people at a convention are usually travelling there, and a lot of those people may not know that most hotels actually have irons available, either tucked away in your room, or if you ask the staff. And secondly, since it's a lot of young people and students, or people who spent all their money on cosplay, they may actually have a tent or an air mattress in an assigned sleeping hall, where there simply aren't irons 🤷 In that case I think the best they could do is iron the cosplay before they pack it, and then look into how to fold/roll the clothes to get the least creases - maybe get clothes packing cubes/bags? Ps. If you're a person without much ironing experience, and you bought a polyester costume, use the lowest heat setting! The Nylon setting, if there is one - or else you will *melt* your cosplay!! I hope this helps 🥰🥰

Great video! The makeup tip is something that I need to work on. Like I've cosplayed a character and I did the most fabulous purple smokey eyes....that looked fabulous in real life. In all of the pictures, the makeup didn't translate. It was very much dulled down in photos. And THANK YOU for mentioning the iron. Seeing wrinkled costumes is one of my biggest pet peeve. Also, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT when photographers make posing suggestions. I really wish more would. They just add more ideas because I may be good at sewing but that doesn't mean that I'm good at posing/modeling.

Thanks for the video! I need to work on my posing in relation to the camera. I remember the first time I cosplayed it never really crossed my mind that people would take pictures so I was one of those stoic cosplayers you talked about xD So for the next time I cosplayed I thought of all the "iconic" poses that the character did, but I didn't practice them in front of the mirror and it turns out that one of my poses covered up half my face at the wrong angle ^ ^;; Next event I will right all my wrongs!

Maybe, if the environment allow, find a place with a less messy background to take the photo too. Else the photo will be background full of people. Unless the photographer has good lens to bokeh the background. And also maybe not too close to a wall else the flash will cast harsh shadows behind.

Good tips! You could also do a video on how to get good cosplays photos at events for photographers! I struggle so much with the events scenarios :C

I'm no pro myself (probably worse than u :< ) but i think it's about getting the right gear (to compensate the indoor light etc) and angle. But really for event photos you can't expect any masterpiece unless you're able to get the cosplayer to step out into a more conducive environment. I just try my best and do what I can. I personally prefer taking full body, bottom up shots so everyone can see all the effort the cosplayers put into the costume.

Those are very usefull and good tips! Thank you for sharing your experience. I oftenly have a reaaaallllly big problem with my big and round face and that every fringe I had just wouldn't stay in place so THANK YOU soo much for the tip with the eyelash glue! I really wouldn't have came to this idea xD And every time I try to make a pose the picture is already token / taken (?), I really unlike this that so mandy people don't give you the right time to get ready D:

I've recently got into cosplay and cosplayed for the first time at a convention last year, I really struggled with pictures lol didnt know what to do with my body/face D: Thanks for the tips XD any tips on pictures with other people? Sometimes people at ask you to take pictures with them. .. I have no idea how to stand XP

It really depends on your character. If it's the cutesy/modern/happy characters , I just pose as normal and do the typical asian 'V' sign. If it's a cool/aloof/period character I just, stand beside them and do my thing with my weapon (if any)
