Amazing tones and playing in this video. And I’m with you on your points! Let’s get the most out of the stock amps & cabs! You are awesome.

Excellent advice and tips. I've had an HX Stomp for a year. I initially struggled getting a tone that wasn't overly harsh on my Strat. Eventually, I discovered that the Mic selection was the easiest and fastest way to get me close when using the stock Cabs. After that, it was much easier to dial in the tone that I wanted. Switching the 57 Dynamic Cab Mic to the 121 Ribbon Mic usually produces very good results for me. Thanks

Thank you for the kind words! Indeed, the 57 is very bright, and I normally only ever use it with the big 4x12" cabs.

I'm loving these tutorials. I have IR's but I usually use the stock cabs, to me they sound really good.

There's actually nothing wrong with most of the stock cabs! A lot of it is people not thinking outside the box, in my opinion. Some wierd combinations, like the matchless with a greenback 30 quad are a great combination. Nice video man, love your sound and style :-)
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, and I agree with you! I’ll have to try that combination out for myself, I have usually gone the other route (using “smaller” cabs like the Matchless 2x12” for Marshall and Mesa Boogie tones).
@Crabfather2 жыл бұрын
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar for my ears, the smaller cabs are more toppy but have tighter mids. I didnt think it woukd work , but the AC30 with an interstate seemed like a nice combo, with tweaking and sensible mic choice. But hey, you're already getting excellent tones. With the hx, its becoming a case of find what works, stick with that and stop second guessing yourself. It puts you off getting an fm9, thinking of how many more tweaks there are. The hx family is more than good enough and any shortfalls are lost in the mix anyway.

Thank you SO much for this video👍 Ever since I got the POD GO I've been hearing about IR's are much better than stock cabinets. But I've always been sceptic about it, because why would LINE 6 use cabinets that doesn't sound good? My thought has always been just to tweek the stock cabinets. I like the presets you use in this video, so I downloaded your free presets and bought the essentials pack 😁 I don't know much about worship songs, other than I like the songs I've come across on KZbin. Worshiping is not really a thing here in Denmark. What song is the solo you play at 2:02 from?... Sounds great 😁

Hi there, thank you so much for the kind words and support! Indeed my thoughts echo yours too; and using stock sounds saves money for me, mostly! The song is an original in the works, which will end up on my next worship EP.

Great informational video. One of the detailed videos i have seen so far. Hope that you one day can find time and share with us on how you EQ for live application. EQ from modeller and set live PA flat or both? Cheers bro!
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, Eddie! That is an interesting question that merits a whole video, thanks for that idea! I think there are two factors that will dominate the discussion: firstly, the size of your band on stage (the more people, the more crowded the mix, and thus the more niched your EQ should be to fit in the mix and not compete), secondly, the complexity of your existing sound system and workflow. Some crews are very strict about the way things are EQ-ed, and so in this situation you should check if your EQ is working against how the board EQ's your guitar. For example, if I mid-boosted the EQ on my modeller, and the board is already boosting the mids (and the crew won't change it), that's going to make for a very nasal, sore-thumb tone from mids on mids.

Great informative video! I use the stock amp and cabs with a bit of tweaking. Thank you for explaining the "Q". I just thought it had something to do with James Bond! 😁 I need a little help understanding the parameters of sag, hum, knee, bias x, and others in the amp and cab models. Maybe I've missed those videos? But I can't seem to find any for the Pod Go on the interweb? A video would be great!
@AllAboutWorshipGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Hi Phillip, thank you for the kind words! I'll put this video idea in the pipeline! Several others have done excellent jobs at explaining the extra amp parameters, like Jimmy from Hey Worship Leader, and I'll post his video link here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4m5k5mLmNiIabM The video is HX Stomp centric but the content will apply to the POD Go as it's the same modelling engine.

Jason Sadites has a video on this in his "dialing in" series for the Helix. Alex Price also has a video on how to use these parameters.
