Just received my Pod Go and since I’m a “Old Schooler” from the early 70’s with a Marshall half stack, Strat and a wah plugged in and turned up, this is all really new to me. I’ve watched this video and wanted to say THANK YOU…! This is by far the absolute best instructional video I’ve seen on anything…!! It’s really helped me get the basics down. I wanted to see if you have some additional videos on the SNAPSHOT part, the guides 8 octopuses and 8 tentacles each equal 64, is fine, except I’m still trying to figure this out. Also I want to learn about the IR’s as well. I keep looking.. Again great video and many many Thanks from this Old Rocker Dude…✌️

This video was incredibly helpful!! I followed along with building the preset, and it was a great test to make sure that I have my new Pod Go set up correctly. @@MileHighFan2Seven I greatly appreciate your feedback and support. I hope you dig the Pasadena presets! I am going to build them for PodGo as well. Super Chat revenue is shared with KZbin and the creator. KZbin takes a fairly high percentage of it, and we don't see the payment until the following month. @@musicgearnetwork Yes, indeed. I'm currently running a vintage POD 2.0 / Floor Board into the EFX return of a DSL1C in low power mode. It actually sounds pretty good to overcome the 1C's rather lacking tone and have some grit when you get the output volume on the POD just right. It makes for a pleasing platform at volumes that my wife can tolerate. I'm strongly considering the POD GO as an upgrade for the same configuration, improved DAW options and even a direct FOH gig rig.

Just bought mine today. Very basic demo from music shop assistant who was unfamiliar with it but managed to set up a couple of presets quickly - regular expert guy lined up yesterday (called Ringo!) tested pos for Covid last night so wasn't there. Not had chance to hook it up yet but from what I've seen and heard in the shop it's just what I need, having struggled with a Boss ME80 for last few years. But boning up on YT and this is the most informative I've seen so far. I have the assurance from the shop that when Ringo returns (I'm assured he will) I can take it down again and he'll give me as much personal tutorials as I need - excellent customer care from PMT Nottingham. But in between I'll be checking out these great vids.

Bought one of these this past weekend, not delivered yet. But trying to get a head start! so a couple questions ----1) I assume I can download all I need now before I get the unit. 2) when ready to load all to the unit, and also work on my first pre-set like you did, I also assume that I connect the unit to my computer, and then also plug my GTR into it as well, so I can HEAR what I'm editing and adjusting on the sound side. 3) also guessing I''ll have to hear it by hooking up a pair of my headphones. Thanks.....Good Video, and especially that you did not RUSH through the install portion!

Hey - with regards to the Input Gate. I've got some crazy noisey pu's (slick 57) and had to turn that gate all the way to -31dB to get a decent noise level. Is this ok? Are there any side effects I should be aware of or considering with this setting? Thanks!
@musicgearnetwork
@musicgearnetwork 4 жыл бұрын
@@StephenWLong Hmm I am not familiar with those pickups, but having to adjust the input that high is concerning. I would personally look at other pickups. Usually with the average noisy pickup the factory default noise gate cleans everything right up. I have never adjusted mine past the factory default whenever I need to engage it.

Nice and simple overview Erick. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it and ho you will try and minimize some of the limitations it has compared to the full Helix floor or LT. I wish this had come out a few years ago so I didnt have to deal with the Firehawk FX with no updates or support. Ive since upgraded to the LT but for hobbyists and non-pros on a budget the PodGo looks like a great unit to get your feet wet in the Helix ecosystem

This information was so good, it got me off the fence! So many advantages over my old Korg Toneworks AX-1500G (and hard to see display now). This is gonna be great since I'm a guitar player that's also a computer tech and love what you showed in modifying so much in real time. You answered my concern over user made presets availability, let alone how they are made, which is great!!! i swore off Line6 years ago, but after seeing no other new multi-fx products on the market i decided to give POD Go a shot. I was also bolstered by demos & reviews that disclosed that it's basically a budget Helix. I'm amazed at the quality of the newer boutique amps and for the first time the FX live up to the amp's quality. If you want a compact set-up for recording and gigging and can't justify $1-2k on a Helix or Profiler or a room full of stomp-boxes, then this is your solution. It puts a smile on my face daily when i'm creating tones for recording. Line6 is back in a big way...

You may want to update this video. I just got a Pod Go and it was very difficult to figure where or how to start installing the software/firmware. The manual says to start Pod Go Edit and it will instruct how to install. Well it didn't. The kicker is you need drivers installed first but there is nothing that explains how to do that. Luckily I found the Line 6 forum page that had a link on how to install the editor with drivers but it was an old version. I installed it anyway then went to the software update page and (again) downloaded the latest version. This time it worked and I was able to update to 1.30.0 on both Pro Edit and the Pod Go. It took me over an hour to figure this out!!

In all pics and videos of the Pod Go I see strange hexagonal depressions (they look like depressions) near the knobs. See for instance the close-up around minute 21:50. It looks like spots where they could have drilled holes to accomodate other knobs. Has Line 6 recycled a casing from a previous product? Also, what do you think of the building quality/sturdiness/durability of the unit?
@musicgearnetwork
@musicgearnetwork 4 жыл бұрын
Hey there. All of Line 6's units have these, helix, Stomp, HX Effects. I can ask the team for a technical explanation but my (non educated engineering skills) tells me that is from some type of clamping system they use during assembly while drilling other holes, or it is a rivet type system. I will ask for further clarification and post a reply. While I have not had a chance to take this unit outside (no one can really right now) it is built like a tank. My initial thoughts before I saw it at NAMM and now having one here is that it would be made out of hard plastic (for the price it is). It is built like a tank. Again, I'll report back!
@musicgearnetwork
@musicgearnetwork 4 жыл бұрын
How is this for a Fast reply? 5 minutes after posting my comment, I got a reply from Frank. I was right on the money. Here is the technical answer: (hope this helps) "They are sheet metal fasteners that the PCBA (and other hardware) is attached to. Here is a pick of the component and you can see the hex shape. That is tacked to the sheet metal and the is what you see show through the other side." Also known as "standoffs" and here is an example of it: www.pemnet.com/pem-self-clinching-standoff-fasteners-in-range-of-types-and-styles-enable-mounting-spacing-or-stacking-of-multi-panel-assemblies/

I'm on Mac and they work flawlessly. In fact I only use Mac the entire time I've been using their products.

Hi sorry if I missed it but how are you playing back the sound from the Pod Go. Right now, I am using a Focusrite Scarlett, out of which I run two studio speakers. Do I need to manually connect the studio speakers to the Pod Go or can I add the Pod Go to my DAW and then let the DAW manage it. Thanks in advance.

Great video!I bought a PodGo but I'm new to multieffect pedals so here is my question. What do I need to connect the pod to the pc for recording but also having background music playing?

Just bought the POD GO, whenever I try to turn it on the screen doesn't turn on. There is sound coming out, only the screen has an issue. It doesn't seem to be damaged on the outside. I guess it's a manufactoring defect?

Great Review Eric...I will definitely use this as a guide once I get the unit. However, is it mandatory to download the latest packages and register the unit before starting to use it?

Love the video's and how you explain everything,keep up the good work , I,m new to the helix world and just purchased a powercab plus 212 & podgo ,was wondering if u could at some point create a video on how to connect the podgo & powercab plus together with leads and set them up so they are ready to use especially for local gigging as stand alone on stage scenario explaining any important settings to adjust in the cab and podgo ,just want to use the 2 items like a normal amp on stage with guitar ! i have limited room at home & don't have a studio room to plug all the gear i see in your videos, wish i had it looks like a blast to control all the devices ,will get their eventually just want to keep pretty simple and get back out their gigging around ,any advice would be helpful. ! great channel.
