Question before i start something i can’t finish lol I have this same kit, got it installed by a shop… 3 years later, one of my air bags has a slit… i just ordered a replacement bag. Will arrive Thursday… I’m thinking i can pull the wheel off on a jack stand and should be able to unbolt air bag and pull right off? Or do i have to release or compress leaf springs.? Thanks

so are those air bags at the highest point at 15 psi? i wanna lower my 2008 silverado and i plan on carrying 1 maybe 2 motorcycles in the bed for some trips and if i can put bags to lift back up the little bit that it will sag down then ill for sure keep something like this in mind

I'm thinking about installing the same kit on my GMC. How's the ride & do you bottom out in the resr?

@tonyr120 only on really nasty bumps. I bumped up the air to 25-30 psi of air it helps. I put some rubber bump pads on the axle pads where the bumpstop would've hit. It helps but PA roads suck

@tonyr120 other kits have you cut and notch the frame and I really didnt feel comfortable doing that yet. Especially on something I still would potentially like to do some light end towing with.

None so far except for one nasty bump on my way home from work everyday has the rear axle bottoming out at 15psi. I've since bumped the bags up to 20psi and added lille rubber bumpers on the frame that pop in the holes where the original bump stop brackets were. Other than that, its been smooth sailing after the alignment.

Rides good so far only bottoms the rear suspension out on nasty bumps. But PA roads suck. In the next week or 2 im gonna get it in the shop and up in the air to service it and inspect everything

Just ever so slightly on the tires on the control arms during max steering and some suspension compression with all terrain tires. Just enough to rub some of the powder coating

@@artemiodelgado6835 not exactly. They help with suspension bottoming out mainly. They help maintain ride hieght a bit when hauling though

I have a 9” Mcgaughys lift kit currently installed on my at4 1500, would it be much trouble to install the a drop kit? Especially with some kits saying to use factory front struts? Thks

Yeah 9" lift is pretty extreme and this kit utilizes the factory front strut assemblies and the rear springs.

I believe the at4 strut is taller than a regular 1500 strut, so double check that and hopefully you kept the crossmember for the front that was cut out to accommodate the diff drop. If you don't have that cut off piece, go to a junkyard and cut one out. Going from high to low isn't that hard, but it takes time. Don't forget your brake lines since you have extended ones.
