Soyeon wrote and produced all of (G)I-dle's Korean language title tracks. As for the b-sides, if she didn't write and produce it it's because either Yuqi, Minnie or Miyeon did. Soyeon stated thar her muse when writing Oh My God was Yuqi, and she purposedly used the pronoun ''she'' in ''she took me to the sky'' to signify that all types of love are valid, not just the traditional one. I recommand reacting to My Bag next. It doesn't have an mv, just a ''Choreography Practice Video'', but it's basically a performance video, and the song is about Soyeon flexing her members' talent. Minnie isn't on the floor in it, but you will be by the end of it!!!!!

We like the message! And "My Bag" was fantastic. It's on the channel now. 😁

So it‘s basically about all of the girls falling in love with Soojin. She represents kinda devilish love? You see how they’re all dressed in white and later they’re clothes turn more black. Soojin is in all black with purple and red. Miyeon is I think a pure goddess but you see her falling for Soojin as well. Shuhua is the only one that stayed in all white but Soojin came and whispered in her ear at the end. I think others will explain it better hope you understand what I mean 😂 I copied this from an article: Soyeon explains that the imagery represents love in its many forms, a notion made more powerful by the unexpected use of female pronouns. "Oh my god, she took me to the sky," Soyeon cries out on the hook, while she writhes within a mass of bodies cloaked in white and tainted in black ink. "Oh my god, she showed me all the stars," Minnie concludes. It leaves viewers wondering to whom are they referring - to themselves or to love itself, a common motif across (G)I-IDLE’s discography - but Soyeon will leave it to the fans to interpret. "I didn't want to limit that 'she' to a certain being or a certain definition," she says. "So it's open to anything. I believe that all kinds of love are valuable and must be respected. That's why I don't want to limit 'she' to something specific."

in gidle’s early discography shuhua had very little lines because her korean pronunciation was considered “bad” (she’s taiwanese so korean is her second language) and got hate comments about it so she asked for less lines. later she improved (and also soojin had to leave) so she started to get more parts! in these past few comebacks we can really witness her incredible growth as a person, a vocalist and a dancer. she became LETHAL let me tell you

I’m so happy you reacted to this song and MV, it’s one of my all time favourites ~ so addicting! 🤍 as a wlw, hearing a song come out of kpop where a female groups uses female pronouns in what seems to be a love song (either dedicated to another woman or oneself - as another commenter mentioned, they left this up to interpretation for fans to relate to as they see fit), was amazing to see especially coming out of Korea which is still a largely homophobic country. They also released an English version of this song, which lyrics suggest a relationship, and one the wlw fans grabbed with both hands 😂❣️ I love how confident they are to put of a song like this and gift it to us to relate to as we wish ☺️

The song is layered with multiple meanings, it was meant to reflect the seduction of fame and celebrity and how it can be addictive but being the bosses they are, they also showed it could mean forbidden love and how it can affect your identity. And there are very few songs from G-idle that were not either written or produced by the members. Yuqi and Minnie have produced and written a few.

"Let us know if "Pop/Stars" is a good one...." - Just to save you some time, **ALL** of (G)I-DLE's m/vs and songs are good! 😊They have a B-side that is at the top of all the Korean charts at the moment - It's topping the charts and it's a B-side. 😊 Okay, so some background on "Pop/Stars": A great amount of (G)I-DLE's original fandom found (G)I-DLE by watching the "Pop/Stars" m/v. (The other great amount of the original fandom found (G)I-DLE by watching "LION", "LION" probably will always be (G)I-DLE's flagship song). I say original fandom because a lot of the newer Neverlands found (G)I-DLE by watching the "TOMBOY" m/v after the hiatus (we're all the same fandom, there is no A or B to Neverland, or no "2.0" either - we are all one). Just giving you a historical reference on Neverland for informational purposes. "Pop/Stars" has two great m/v's - the original m/v is an animated m/v which was made for the League Of Legends game. The original m/v has almost 600 million views right now, and it is one of k-pop's most popular m/v's. The other popular m/v is the "League Of Legends Opening Ceremony Presented By Mastercard" (a live stage). In this video, they use augmented reality, where the LoL characters are on stage with the singers. But the original animated m/v is the one to watch if you can only watch one. Soyeon and Miyeon also have characters in League Of Legends, Soyeon's is named "Akali", and Miyeon's character is the nine-tailed fox named "Ahri". Miyeon's character has always been one of the best and most popular characters in all of League Of Legends. You'll definitely enjoy "Pop/Stars"! 😊

This was one of the first entries in Idles "We've had enough of this s**t!" era. Follow-ups are Tomboy, I Want That, Wife, Super Lady, Revenge, and more. They (Soyeon) dropped any pretense that they were going to nibble at the edges of their dissatisfaction with the cultural issues in S Korea and go full-on in-your-face. Soyeon's statement about the meaning of this song was a very politic one, attempting to diffuse the push-back from Conservatives in Korea, so take it with a grain of salt. It was not only a statement, but a great song. I think Idle is going for the record for songs banned on Korean media, if they don't have it already. ;)

Oh My God and Lion feel like the peak of their very smoothly produced epic period before Tomboy started a more musically aggressive phase to my ears. I fully support their recent releases, but my favorite songs to revisit are the very richly blended sounds that we still get on b-sides. Uh-oh is a good one to try. The MV has one special effect I thought was pretty genius. Also since you enjoyed Jisoo’s Flower, you’ll probably also like Soojin’s Agassy. They have a similar vibe and people compared them pretty critically when they came out, but I feel like there’s plenty of difference for both songs to breathe separately.

(G) Idle often talk about social and cultural issues in their songs, hence why they are considered controvorsial in their country and why their songs and mv are forbidden to broadcast in radio and tv

This song went viral because it is SO FAR OUT for most backward-thinking Koreans (seriously that country seems to be stuck in a period that is like what the United States was in up through the 1950's and into the 1960's). They are SO Male-Dominant that these ladies actually do get hate for making music simply because they are SO forward. The English Language Version of this song is WAY more 'spicy' than the Korean lyrics being translated to English... (G)I-DLE has always been ahead-of-their-time, especially for being a Korean Entertainment group. I have to say 'Korean' very loosely though because as things stand right now, there are only two remaining Korean members in the group; the other three members are all 'foreigners' (non-Koreans). Miyeon and Soyeon are both Born-and-Raised Korean. Minnie is from Thailand so her First Language is Thai. Yuqi is from Mainland China and her First Language is Mandarin. Shuhua is from Taiwan and her First Language is also the dialect of Mandarin found on the island. Shuhua struggled with learning Korean more than any other Idol that I am aware of so when (G)I-DLE first debuted, she WANTED fewer lines in their songs so that she would not embarrass herself or the group. Soojin was the first to befriend Shuhua even though they could barely understand each other. Soojin really helped Shuhua a LOT so I am pretty sure that Shuhua (being the maknae AND being the closest of friends with Soojin out of all the members) took it the hardest when Soojin was pulled from the group and then eventually fired. Things are NOT THE SAME after that. The group took a year-long hiatus and fans were not sure they would ever come back as a group. Soyeon did another Solo project. Miyeon got a Solo project. Minnie went home for a while and had some vlogs with her family members (off-camera but they did speak). No idea what Yuqi was up to at the time except likely writing for when she got her Solo project. And NOT A PEEP from Shuhua, no idea what she was actually uip to at all. When they did come back (the album called I Never Die and the Title Track 'Tomboy'), their 'feel', their whole aura was completely different. They are even more angry at the patriarchy they are stuck living under. Shuhua doesn't smile much anymore; the 'baby' is gone but the 'boss' stuck around. Seems like she worked on her dancing and of course her language skills. And she was obviously working out a lot; in a certain video, Shuhua's muscles are clearly visible through her clothing and it looks like she could easily pick up Soyeon and toss her across the room without much effort. NOT a happy camper. Cube Entertainment has taken a lot of things away from a lot of people. In Shuhua's specific case, they took away her closest friend without any good reason.

Yuqi went back to China and her schedules were off-the-charts hectic during the hiatus. You can see a lot of Yuqi back then on Running Man. But Yuqi was heavily immersed in several projects in China during those months. Shuha was on M Player in Taiwan during hiatus. She was the most out of the limelight during hiatus but came back the soonest, Shuhua was most instrumental in taking on the members' worries and was their backbone in those times. Not enough of Neverland know just how big of a role Shuhua played in keeping everything and everyone together back then.
