9:16 ab imo pectore - From the very depths of my soul/ from the bottom of my heart MV has a great plot! In the beginning we see Minnie who has sinned before God and is rejected by him. After Minnie is swallowed up in darkness, all the red and transparent liquid that is shown in the clip can be seen as a symbol of temptation and depravity. The scene where Minnie seems to be confined in the glass she is afraid of being expelled and so is filled with the red liquid from within. Soyeon dances freely in the white room which is kind of like a holy ground although it has completely fallen. The red liquid has awakened her instinct to be trapped inside the castle. Minnie is saddened by being banished. Approaching the gate of the holy land she tries the door again. Yuqi walks down the corridor but looks very anxious, she is afraid that temptation is following her, she has an image of the temptress Soojin, she stops struggling and gives in to temptation. Yuqi sees a flickering light, it shows Miyeon in the image of the Goddess who is hiding behind it. Yuqi is hypnotized. An angry Miyoung spills red liquid on Yuqi. Afterward, we are shown the fallen, with Soyeon appearing among them. Dancing among the fallen, not afraid or embarrassed rather, she enjoys it. Minnie dances with the Devil's minions like Soyeon but still at the entrance to the holy land, she doesn't allow herself to be tempted. Her desire to follow God still remains. Devil seductress Soojin sits among her minions, the purple straps/fabric that bind Soojin binds her to God. The imprisoned Sujin consumes those who serve God to take revenge on him later. God couldn't keep the fallen Soyeon down, she is trapped behind a barbed wire fence but Soyeon overcomes Soojin's temptation, she begins to resist the devil. Soojin doesn't stop, her minions come to Goddess Miyeon, sinners reach out to her. Miyeon loses her dominion and falls down, God is killed by Soojin's minions. The flowers - which symbolize purity are burned and the Goddess falls, Miyeon dies. Yuqi who followed her falls into temptation. Soojin is no longer wearing the straps that restrained her. The devil is free. The apple is forbidden fruit, no rules. And who's holding him? Soojin, breaking the rules. Minnie tries to resist, but the devil is stronger. Shuhua was God's favorite, she didn't succumb to the devil's temptation, Soojin aimed at her. Soojin whispers to Shuhua, "Ab imo Pectore." Sujin says the same thing to Soyeon. The devil takes over all minds. The fallen Soyeon drowns in the mud. Soojin became free and strong, the person she wanted to be. Black hands, dirty clothes, Minnie is afraid and wants to run away, but she has nowhere to go, there is no God anymore. accepting reality Minnie sinks into the mud.

to basically break it down the video started with Soyeon and Minnie in a white room which seemed almost like endless nothingness showing how bleak life was for them unable to experience love bc of religious background/family. but Soyeon craved love so much she left, then discovering a wonderful place full of color and gold a representation of living life without restrictions on love or how you present yourself, where Yuqi, Shuhua, Miyeon, and Soyeon are all struggling with excepting themselves as they have all been told their entire lives their love is wrong or a "sin" but then they all eventually overcome this as Soyeon is the first one to "give in" and then Soojin and Shuhua who were conflicted bc of people being cruel to them and trying to change them as shown in the scene where ppl were waving crosses at them, eventually they choose their love as shown in Shuhua's line "whatever ppl say fall in love" and the iconic Shuhua and Soojin kiss miyeon, and yuqi also end up choosing to express their love but sadly minnie was not able to leave the white room and experience love. her crawling into a ball full of hurt and sadness was honestly so hard to watch as many ppl often go their whole lives without leaving that white room and end up forced to live a life they didn't want. Informing on popular/known (G)I-DLE ships : YuYeon (Yuqi and Soyeon) MiMin (Miyeon and Minnie) and SooShu (Soojin and Shuhua) this is also the ship that looked like they were almost kissing in the m/v ! They sucumbed to temptation and then paid the piper. So there is the whole gay theme, but there is also a good/evil and temptation theme where the angels are tempted out of heaven into hell. Minnie was dragged away by society for being tempted, but then gives in and 'dirties' her hands and corrupts her soul. And then ends up in hell. Remember that for Korea this is a very taboo topic--think the US in the 1960's. Nobody but GIDLE could pull this off....Oh, and Soyeon is a freaking genius.

Ahem, in my comment to Nxde I noted that reacting to Oh My God would be like diving into the ocean. lol Anyway, you have now ventured into the Soojin era, which should help to inform the Revenge MV that you reacted to. Two things to always bear in mind about this group: Soyeon is a genius with seemingly unlimited energy; and Soojin is still a member in the hearts of the other members. That said, if you'd like to get a little more about how Soojin is the subject of the Revenge MV, there is a video on that point by youtuber Bookish Theories. I have seen another reactor actually post a reaction to the Bookish Theories video in connection with a reaction to the Revenge MV, but it is an interesting watch in any event. As to Oh My God, Soyeon has generally refused to specifically answer questions about its meaning. Personally, I don't think it's particularly about lesbianism being a sin; I think its more about how love (or passion) can be both uplifting and overwhelming--or even destructive. You noted at one point, "she looks like an angel." (About 8:25.) At another point, though, you could have said, "she looks devilish." (6:00, for example.) Thus, the dichotomy. Fun fact: the angelic one is Shuhua; the devilish one is Soojin; and Shuhua and Soojin were known to be particularly close. Oh, and Shuhua plays both herself and Soojin in the Revenge MV. I think Oh My God is one of the two most important MVs from the Soojin era. I recommend that you now see the other one, Lion, wherein Soyeon clearly crowns herself the Lion Queen. Finally, I'm talkin' up Mamamoo again! This time I'm revising my specific recommendation. Take a look at Oh Um Ah Yeh. You WILL have fun. 😉
