This is SO helpful. I know I will come back to this video repeatedly and learn something new each time. Thanks for teaching!

Thanks! I was so focused on the Davinci window and what you were doing in it that I never even noticed the camera freeze.

How old are you? 80? How in the world have you had time to learn sooooo much about every aspect of this complex video editor? Your knowledge of this program is amazing!

The shading elements are absurdly powerful. In addition to what's mentioned, the color of each shading layer can also be a gradient or image source, which can be mapped over the whole text, per line or per character. I've managed to get some amazing looking stuff just out of the Text+ tool.

You have a great understanding of this program! So that's how you do the Matrix scramble. Thanks for these pro tips.

Excellent video. A few things. At 11:20, a better word here is index. Each character has a number associated with it called its index. At around 15:45, I'd be willing to bet that reason it's doing that is because when you press enter, you're adding a non-printable character to the text (also called a string) and I bet that the modifier adds it to the index so it messes up the end. Is there any way to speed up lots of text? My follower slows down 1 frame / second. That seems like some really bad optimization.

It is unfortunate that all the nodes are already on screen so there is no way to find out how you got them there for beginners. From scratch. The text generator from the icon menu does not allow all caps transform and I was trying to figure out how to do that...in illustrator and after effects the character menu has that all caps button...but here it is nowhere to be seen. And the Character Level node could not be found in the effects menu... This is not for a total beginner I suppose.

Thank you! Is there any way of converting text to a path like in Photoshop by any chance?

If it wasn't for guys like you on here I'd be so lost in trying to learn this. One thing I'm curious about is if there's a way to convert text to paths like you can do in After Effects. Now that I'm getting more comfortable with the node structure I'm actually finding it to be more efficient (and dare I say easier in some ways) that AE in how it handles compositing. Just wish it could work directly with Illustrator files.

When I animate in character level, davinci fusion stops responding. Any one with this?

Dear Justin, I don't like the new light in your studio at all. It was much better before. Now it looks like you are sitting in a dark cave. The pale light makes you look sick. Greetings from Germany :)

yeah, I liked the earlier color a lot more. Currently It's like colorist making tv series Chernobyl look more depressing. But the content is still very good, and that is the main thing.
