Abbot Shohaku Okumura 🙏🙏🌷 The "knowing mind" - knows not of True Reality ie Non-duality. The "don't know" mind - knows but it is unknowable, and cannot express or conceive of itself due the limitations of words in language or verbal forms. 🙏🙏🙇

Siew Kon Sum, we are grateful for you appearance on this channel once again. You have profoundly stated the challenges we face on this channel, and in the world, of revealing and living the truth that cannot be said. Here is a module addressing this subject you may appreciate: “The Unknowing” kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4C7hZSYjMShnKs

Such an amazing and well-elaborated perspective of karma, our identity and the paradox of keeping identity while letting go fo identity
@Interiormythos2 жыл бұрын
lukas hammerle, thank you for this reflection. Yes, the paradox of identity is deep and something we explore with many of the modules you will find here. We are grateful you discovered this channel. We hope you will return often and share your comments freely. If you wish to adopt a regular practice of exploring a deep personal journey within this 21st Century global village we share, consider the sequential steps of the “Life Journeys” series you can discover in the Playlists on this channel. We know of no more important practice for humanity today than re-connecting with the universal Deep Place and allowing this connection to modulate our thinking and action. This material can nurture the beginning seeker or the well-practiced master. Our world needs contemporary contemplative practitioners. The “Life Journey” series uses material from some of the greatest living teachers who are mostly unknown to the popular culture; including Abbot Shohaku Okumura, Sister Joan Chittister, and many others from the East and the West. These sequential cinematic art form modules guide one deeper and deeper into consciousness and the practices of a contemporary contemplative. Think of each module (Station) as a component of daily practice or study like a foundational dharma talk or contemplative catechism. To advance in becoming a contemplative practitioner, we suggest encountering one sequential module per day, or some other regular schedule that works for you. The journey begins with an awareness of “The Presence.” kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZbOl4Vnn9emodE. This sequential journey is an excellent opportunity for solitary inquiry or shared group discussion. The top Comment listed under each module contains a context for the specific video on screen and a link to the next sequential station. We hope to see more comments and reflections from you again soon. We will always attempt to respond. Here is a link to a short context that will help you understand the “Life Journeys” series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHWmmad4j8mkn9k GO Deep!

@@Interiormythos Thank you so much for your elaborate answer, I truly enjoy your content your interview "Shohaku Okumura A Good for Nothing Life" deeply touched me. I am practicing zen in my local zendo since a year now, before i have been practicing on my own. It helps me tremendously to get input like this through your channel, it gives me a new perspective and space within my body and mind. I am constantly watching your videos, especially talks with shohaku okumura. I try my best to not understand it, but to embrace it and make it part of my practice. I fail often, and i am happy to keep failing.

Brilliant koan; this is where chances of true progress lie.

Kosmic Kitchen, “true progress” will not be achieved anywhere else. It is this connection with The Deep Place that must be nurtured. As Søren Kierkegaard reminds us, ‘true progress is not a step forward, but a step backward into primitivity!’ We are grateful you have discovered this channel. I have recently begun to think of the story of the Garden of Eden in Genesis in this way... After Adam and Eve ate the apple from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (which could be interpreted to mean mean becoming subject to dualistic thinking), Adam hid from God & wore a fig leaf because he was ashamed, and God says "Who told you that you were naked?"... Having thus hidden ourselves from God, we were cast out of the Garden of Eden. To really 'see God' (or even be seen by Him) again, or Heaven - or the Garden of Eden, we have to become naked and show ourselves to him completely; by being sincere - unpretentious - authentic.

Fedaalis, thank you for affirming this profound exercise; yes, the last thing we wish to do is become naked and fully known before The-All-There-Is! Yet, this is precisely the practice we must daily, and moment-by-moment, learn to practice. The classic stories once again reveal the unchanging truth. GO Deep!

Abbot Shohaku Okumura 🙏🙏🌷 There is no ( self made identity of) "Me" or "I" in the True realm ie Non-duality. However these 2 pronouns are needed for Oneself to function ( Objective adjustment) in worldly life reality. But One should NOT be attached, instead make use of them (Spiritual approach) in the spiritual practices in life. 🙏🙏🙇
