A very good actor who could go as daffy or dark as needed. He didn't have the striking handsomeness of a Robert Taylor or Tyrone Power, but he could play an ordinary guy married to a gorgeous woman and it seemed perfectly believable. Charismatic.

He's a lawyer, and it was illegal to do what he's sneaking to do. That said, Robert Montgomery & Carole Lombard were great in these roles, though her going so far as to break up his entire business because he answered that question foolishly was... well, foolish. But it's meant to be a farce so...
