everytime i see a novel love story, i am compelled to say this cause idk if anyone else noticed... but the colour of the shadow of the text on dead romantics is the book cover colour of the 7 year slip and the colour of the shadow of the text on the 7 year slip is the book cover colour of a novel love story. it is such a cute detail.

YAYYY BRY POSTED!! okay so as far as rating 5 and 6 stars (which you don’t have to do if you don’t want to) is for me, a 5 star is a book that i enjoyed all the way through. great writing, consistent pacing, memorable quotes, fleshed out characters, and a satisfying ending. a 6 star is at its core a 5 star but additionally invokes emotions that pierce me to my core. i can’t stop thinking about the characters and just the thought of the book makes my whole body get goosebumps. i remember the plot like the back of my hand and i have reread at least twice. hope this helps love and you’re doing a wonderful job!!

I use a 6 star system with quarter stars as well (6, 5, 4.75, 4.5, 4.25, 4, etc) and I use the 6 stars for my absolute faves. A 6 star book for me is one that I can see myself re-reading over and over again and always recommending to my friends. I’m super generous with 5 stars which is why I started including 6 stars. I rarely give a book less than a 3 without just DNFing.

I love that you’re starting about convo about rating system! I recently was thinking about my own. A 5 star for me is anything I absolutely loved and would re-read again! I don’t give out 5 stars often so it makes sense that If it’s something I would re-read, then it’s a 5!

i feel like the difference between 5 and 6 stars for me specifically is that 5 stars are books that i highly recommend, barely have complaints, highly enjoyed the book and the writing really entices you into a different world. 5 stars makes you forget that you’re reading. and is most of time recommendable to anyone. now 6 stars is more personal. not everyone is going to rate this book 6 stars but it is for me because it hits the bones for me. for me that’s daisy jones & the six because i have a huge background with music and love how tjr writes the characters. BUT that book is definitely not a 6 stars for everyone but it is TO ME. ya know what i mean?
