Quick question. This tune is similar to the “that’s what love will make me do” but you play the patterns differently. As in you got your hand in two positions on the other one when you could have kept it in one (like this one) Is that just a personal preference thing or how John Kahn plays it? Thanks.

Just a personal preference.. I always try and start playing just as John did.. At least in sound and feel.. And then, depending on how I'm feeling in the moment, I will stick to that form, or, if I'm feeling loose or just want to mess around with it.. I might modify a groove to make it more of my own.. I'm really trying to sound like John Kahn. But I also want to sound like myself as well.. Just trying to have fun! Hope this helps 🤙
