One thing I find scary about this level. "The level changes when no sentient being is looking" Imagine you get used to this effect, but then one of the times you look away, nothing changes at all. Did only something very minor change about the layout...or is something watching you?

When you see a entity blink and it’s gone

Sgt Blunt here with some notes. I've been here thrice. This was THE level that convinced me to start carrying a gun in the Backrooms. I remember my first Lurker encounter. Fighting that thing off with my camping hatchet was NOT PLEASANT AT ALL! Lurkers attack by ambush and trying to coil around you. They're covered with a layer of mucus that helps them with protection from mold and weak attacks, but it also makes it easier to writhe out of their clutches. When pounced, you only have a few seconds to start escaping, because they constrict immediately, grasping with their legs and the full strength of their bodies. And while they do that, they try to get in a fatal bite on your throat. You can hear a faint skittering-sliding noise, but usually you'll have minimal indication they're even there, apart from possibly noticing a silhouette against a distant light source. I think the Lurkers put this in level 4 or 5 territory in terms of danger because of just how hostile and deadly they are. Maybe it's because I've been working night shifts, or because I've been traversing dark areas IRL since I was a kid, but I found the darkness in this level of be minimally problematic. I've always had abnormally good night vision. The fear effects still creep in, because it's abnormal and oppressive. Drinking some alcohol for the dutch courage effect isn't a bad idea, because if you get stuck with fear here, you will not get out. Reforming Level 64 into a normal house requires coming to a place with perspective, like if you're upstairs and looking down on another room, and visualizing as if it's one contiguous area. For whatever reason, this semi locks the area around you into something that makes actual sense. From there, you can walk around, keeping a mental map in your head, and soon enough, the level will generate a front door for you to escape from. You can also smash a window and crawl out that way, but it'll send you to a random level. I got sent to Level Fun that way. An improvement. The reforming effect doesn't work on things within 10 feet of you, or within the same "room". Til next time! B
