Yesterday i found out that Season 9 will be the end.. I could cope with this message until my friends left my house.. and i nearly felt the same feeling when i had my very first break up in my chest.. After 7 years.. so many memories. THrills and let downs.. it defined my life so much... next year im drafted into the army.. just when the show ends.. It really is the end of a lifes chapter and a start of a new one.. Becoming an adult can hit you like a train sometimes..

Starlight is honestly a relatable character in my opinion. Shes improved so much since her season 5. Weve all made mistakes and as long as we learn from our mistakes and we improve and do what's right that's success for me. And Starlight has done that she has improved herself and that's why I love her. Also her personality is legit me tbh. Anyways great PMV loved it ^^♡

You can always expect something exceptional with a PMV by you Jack! And this is no different! A wonderful re-telling of Starlight's story. The way you used all those Starlight greenscreens gives me the best reminder of Shelter, and this is certainly right up there in quality, awesome job!~ Also... obligatory "I don't feel so good" at 2:55 :P

I love everything about this PMV; the music, edits, transitions, effects, especially the type font. It gives me such a good feel inside coupled with the music. Perfect music to listen to while working, not too distracting. I feel like I prefer the audio quality on this video rather than the official videos.

"Your past doesn't define who you are, it just gives you a starting point for who you're going to be" Is2g, it took me forever to figure out where I'd heard that line from. I knew it was a female character who had said it and that it was from a show both my brother and I had seen, and I FINALLY remembered that I heard it from Agent Carolina from Red vs Blue. Never expected to see an RvB line on a MLP AMV.

Jack, you are one of the best if not the best PMV maker out there today, so I think you deserve my fully honest thoughts. Compared to most PMVs, it was a phenomenal video, but I thought it was very weak compared to your other recent videos. Not bashing, but I want to give you a good critique to help you keep improving. If you disagree with anything I write, take it up with me on Discord :) Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the "Starlight confronting her past" is getting really common and non-unique. The memory / video replay style of presentation is great, but since you obviously took so much inspiration from Shelter, I was a bit disappointed and thought that you played it too safe. Speaking of Shelter, one reason that it crushed the competition last year is that the tone and pacing of the visuals matched the audio, but here they didn't match well. The song is fast-paced with highly pronounced beats throughout, but the visuals did not appear to be structured the framework presented by the song. Shelter killed it with a slower style because the story was extremely nostalgic with a focus on savoring good memories rather than facing bad ones. I feel like a better tone would be something more focused and violent, like Starlight is aggressively rejecting her past. If I was doing this song I would have taken inspiration from Electro-Choc's "HeavyDirtySoul" PMV. The quality of the editing (aside from matching the beat) is spot on. The glitchy transitions were so natural and the faded, VHS tape color correction looked great. The "you are a kaleidoscope" line is such a great opportunity to create some kind of mirror imaging, kaleidoscope, grid, or multi-layer effect. I really expected something clever there, and it would have allowed you to show Starlight's conflicting past/present behaviors contrasted side-by-side. Wasted opportunity :( I know I'm being pretty harsh here, but I don't want to blindly fanboy over every great PMV. You are honestly my number one favorite editor, and I've taken lots of inspiration and ideas from you (both your "A Sky Full of Stars" and "Shelter" vids were HUGE inspirations for my own "If You Could See Me Now" published last November, which I consider my personal best video). Like I said this video may be bad for you, but it's still far better than most PMVs out there. You never fail to deliver on a good story. tl;dr: It's good, but you should have spent more time planning out the creative, stylistic, thematic, and tonal elements. Also now that I watched the video a bunch of times, the song is hardcore stuck in my head. Need to check out that album.........
