Really great idea. I ride a softail deluxe, 70 yo returning rider after not riding for 5 years. I struggle with u-turns and I have an ebike, now I will practice on the ebike and get more comfortable with u-turns, etc transfer that to my big twin. Thank you

Taught a class today for beginners, one guy had a Harley sittingin garage waiting for him.could barely control a Grom.. passed with a lot of coaching barely. I took him aside and suggested he get a 500 cc bike or smaller for a year before taking out the Harley and possibly risking damaging it.. he was not receptive cuz " his buddy is going to show him how to ride a Harley" , i feel bad for that bike.

I think you were doing right by your student and that your student is just a stubborn gullible numbskull. He or she apparently doesn't understand the concept of baby stepping into something that could be dangerous. I didn't start off on no damn 800 lb harley, I don't ride Harleys anyway because I prefer to be riding more than wrenching. I started off on a damn Honda Rebel 2017 which is a 286 CC AKA a go-kart on steroids engine After a year and a half to maybe 2 years tops, I upgraded to my now current Honda 2019 cb500x ADV bike and could not be happier

I have buddy who is afraid to lean his bike. He's not a very experienced rider. It makes him a slow rider because he will not accelerate through the turns.
@motorman8574 ай бұрын
It sounds like your buddy needs some serious training. If he's afraid to accelerate thru turns, he's a danger to himself and everyone else on the road. send him to my website, www.ridelikeapro.com

I can lean the bike pretty well. Make u-turns within a lane and do these types of couses. However, I do have a mental block when it comes to leaning the bike far enough to scrape the pegs that I am trying to address.

Sounds like you need more practice.😁

@@kennethsouthard6042 Great. Make sure to practice the exercises in the order shown. Most of my students get the floorboards down for the first time in the offset cone weave simply by raising their speed a bit.
@kennethsouthard60424 ай бұрын
@@motorman857No floorboards, as I've got a Goldwing F6B, so I have a little more lean angle to get down to than you Harley guys.

You thinking of the old Harleys. You could eat off my 103, top or bottom if you wanted or need to. A friend of mine bought a new Indian Chief and within two years the paint is bubbling up on both fenders, the exhaust overheats, it stalls out on him constantly. At 1800 miles the clutch cable broke. It’s been a nightmare for him. When he carried it to the dealer, they told him all models of the Indians have the same problems. I had a Victory, Kawasaki, Yamaha and a Honda before I owned my Harley. I have to say I love my Harley most of all of them, but the Victory was a sweet bike also. I would just be afraid Polaris may abandon Indian owners one day like they did with the Victories.

You wouldn’t buy a motorcycle in a box that you have to assemble yourself, I hope. Bicycles are not toys; buy one at a proper bike shop.
