What I probably didn’t mention is it’s also good (if you want to do this) to build a relationship with a client you see yourself doing more work with, I would love to do heaps more work with Harley Davidson and love the brand so I’m happy to discount the price a little but for other jobs I’ve done I have charged much more 😁🙏

But to he honest i went with the latest and greatest (fuji xt4) but i think i would be as satisfied with an xt1 of 2 lol it isnt about the camera. Just have fun and enjoy the proces of it🙏 more important than having the latest and greatest even if its really tempting to get an expensive camera. Price also covers the gear and the post process time as well. Most start out charging $0 and then when they build their name it becomes an income. You also got a job for a larger company who will gladly pay that much. Great video my man.

Nah, price only covers subjective value of the job. If your photos are shit people wont give a shit about your gear even if you shoot with an arri..

Preach mate! The biggest challenge is getting out there and shooting. As you grow your work will speak for itself, but you have to remember to adjust your prices accordingly. You'll never get anywhere charging $200 per night especially if the time it takes you is well above that price.

Oh no, I am 100% on board with your pricing. Starting up freelance portrait photography, I was very timid on pricing and I would feel bad about putting a price tag for something I wouldn't pay for as an amateur. Now doing some shoots of my own, the photos and the hours on the field don't justify the pricing for the labor and the time behind the scenes as for editing. I actually got inspired by your old videos where you went up to random places asking for freelance photography and bought a Sony myself. Granted being an a7II, I plan on working my ass off to pay off the money spent and selling it so I can upgrade in the near future. Thanks man for being a main inspiration to my craft. You've been a great help you and your mates 🙏🙏🙏

Fun fact: 2 weeks ago i got out to shoot, and literally 20 meters away from my homes door there is a barber shop. I was taking random photos around there, the owner saw me and he was like: "Yo, can you take some photos of my place aswell?'' and i was like.. uuuhmm yeah? (havent got paid once in my life for doing a photoshoot). Long story short i offered him a 50$ job just because he told me that he was in search of a photographer and the lowest he found was 80 and still was expensive for him so yeah. Even tho he changed his mind about the photoshoot (idk why), i am a really good example of 'go out and try' and even tho i never asked him if he wanted photos for his barber shop, he reached out to me. So grab your camera and go out! Thank you Mike for all this push and confidence you have achieved to give me in every video of yours! And i know im not the only one. Cheers moite.
