It’s nice to see you’re a motorcycle fan. I’ve had many bikes, but at age 70, married, 2 sons, 2 granddaughters I’m done riding. My last bike was a BMW R1150 RT, I put 74k miles on it. I’ve always loved Triumph and BSA, but sadly never had one. Good info shooting with a large light reflector.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked the technique. BTW I have spent the winter building a bike mostly out of a 1981 BMW R100 (bought as an unfinished project) and bits and pieces found in my shed and scrounged up elsewhere. Love it...

I just watched your older motorbike picture video and discovered this one....awesome Mike!! Oh how I love the beautiful variety of countryside in England. I moved from Cheltenham in 1982 to live in Canada and will have to travel some ways to see anything but prairie where you can watch a dog run away for 3 days lol. Great use of a reflector. I'm going to try the same technique and then swap out the reflector and putting a speedlite on the ground with a diffuser and then experiment with different settings to underexpose the sky and capture some of the richness of colours with the clouds/sky.

So thankful for the electrics in bikes now! My goodness I’d forget a step in starting an old girl the beautiful BSA you’ve got - what a ripper of a machine. So typical of motorcyclists too in looking out and after each other. Especially newbies. Very exciting. As for the photography and images, I enjoyed seeing the difference a reflector makes. There’s been a few times when I’ve been out bush, and thought a little bit extra light in somewhere would just help lift something . . . .and of course, I don’t have anything to help. My favourite image was the last one. The light and the context just seemed to suit the old girl. May she keep you going for a good few years yet.

The first of your videos I’ve seen. Just off to my ‘hobby’ of helping out at a Harley builders where I use the bikes to practice my photography. Great video. Subscribed and likely go do the course…

I owned a B31 60 years ago but it had ‘modern’ rear suspension and an enclosed chaincase. I’m no expert on old bikes, so wondering if this is actually a B31 or earlier? 76 years old now and riding a BMW R1250GSA. All that aside, great video thanks.

Thanks Psul. B31's evolved. Mine is a 1950 - the year plunger suspension was added. Not sure when but a few years later the went to swing arm and shocks (modern suspension). Recon that's the version you had... ... MIKE🙏😊

Very enjoyable again Mike. Amongst two of my favourite hobbies in one video 👍. My own bike has 50+ year old design brakes so a fist bump there. A note why cows were reluctant for a petting, cow skin covered hands 😱😁. Thanks again.

Nice vid indeed Mike, I owned a B40 for a few years, yeah how bikes have changed. I have learned a lot from your very practical vids over the years, THANKS. Top marks on your determination to provide insight as to the realities of using a reflector in the field. It might have been interesting to compare with infill flash as a possible alternative..? I also found it interesting the way you handled the backdrop when amongst the trees, with no suggestion of using PP techniques to clean things up. The image of the bike on the track wins it for me.. Thanks gee dee. Happy to help. Bet you miss the B40. Friend of mine had a B44 Shooting Star which regularly kicked him over the bars when starting it 😆. Went like a spanked rat though.. ... MIKE🙏😊
