0:19 "Shopify *payments*" uses stripe, which is Shopify's _optional_ payment gateway. Confusing I know but they are separate things in practice.

I love Stripe, but unfortunately in Canada, their payouts are often 7 business days out which is a deal breaker for some of my clients. I've been using Braintree in those cases, not nearly as simple, but quite feature rich and powerful. I also prefer their vaulting system.

for local development when you want to test your webhooks, you can use a service like ngrok to route the requests to your localhost

Stripe won’t let me put in my debit card info and instead is trying to make me put in my bank account information. I don’t feel comfortable doing that. It says that debit cards are being “phased out.” Why not let me put in my debit card info? This makes absolutely no sense

This is so so far from the truth, i mean very far. Stripe is not 7 lines of code, its more like 700 + a lot of other stuff to take care of. Patrick is someone whom you MUST say good things about, so everybody overestimate the company, where in fact not only that other companies do the same, Stripe isn't that easy/fast to implement. It is good, but not such a wow.
