As per the procedure, the police only has to see citizenship and criminality. If adverse report is with respect to current address, visit the RPO and show them the documents.

Thank you so much Kawaljit. That was very useful information. They have given an adverse report for my name not matching exactly for in the SSC certificate. And now through I understand it's not applicable at all for the adverse report. But filing an RTI or a case in high court is not a practical solution for a middle class working people like me and I am sure lot of people would like to know simpler way to tackle this situation. Please suggest. Sure we can go to the courts if other simpler alertnatives do not work out. Thank you so much for all information and help.

very nice information. my son's police verification is not clear as the name on the birth certificate is not having the expansion of the initial. Misspelling of south Indian name by Gujarat hospital in the birth certificate. But Maharashtra Police didn't understand this issue.

Sir maine 2021 january me 1st time fresh passport ke liye apply kiya tha aur passport office me interview bhi diya tha jiske bad police verification process hua to mere police verification me 1 case aa gya jiske vajah se mera passport nhi ban paya, uske baad maine mere police me rajinama kr liya aur court se bhi case khtam hone ke document le liye, jiske bad maine 2021 july me phir se passport form submit kr diya aur passport office se mera phir se interview hua, jiske bad maine mere case ke documents mere related police station me bhi submit kr diye the, lekin ab passport website pr status show krta h, Police Verification Report For Passport Application is under review at the regional passport office. Passport will be dispatched after police verification report is found clear. The applicant would receive an sms/email once the passport is dispatched. Iske baare me jab maine passport brokers se bat ki to wo khte h ki isme apko RPO jana pdega aur wha aapko penalty jma karwani pdegi 5000 ya 10000₹ kyonki aapne 1st file ko close kiye bina dobara form bhr diya passport ke liye, to mujhe ye janna tha ki RPO kis bat ki penalty lgti hai aur agr lgti hai to kitni lgti hai, aur mere pas police se free hone ke sbhi documents bhi available h plz help me, main bahut preshan hu aur mujhe is baare me koi jankari nhi h, me jisse bhi is baare me puchta hu to sb alg-alg trh ki salah dete h aur bahut jyada paise mangte h...

Very good info, you have provided. Kindly quote authority also for police work in police varification for passport, as police is not restricting to their works. They try to find out fault some how specially for residential address.
