Watch the newer video to see a more extreme example to see the value in this technique better)Today I go over this unusual technique for accurate skin tones. Combining this utility dctl with color compressor and qualifier is brilliant! (in my opinion)
Let me know what you think
You don't have to use the utility DCTL to do this trick but it is a great guide to get there.

For anyone who is having a hard time seeing the color change. Remember he is only changing what was "yellow" or not on the skin tone line. So when he clicks the node on and off you'll see the left side of the face gain some shift in color to more correct tone. He did not change what was already correct, just fixed what wasn't. * I suck at explaining things but I tried.
@JanikBrosFilms

You did well at explaining it. lol. It’s the subtle shifts in color that make a difference. Especially if skin looks blotch, red, or just uneven. Thanks for clearing this up a little more.

That’s certainly one way to take the life out of your grade. My rule is go with broad strokes and if it’s nit a problem don’t fix it. Getting obsessed with “correct” can really hurt your results.

Yeah true. It’s more for uneven skin and people with more splotchy/magenta in cheeks. Make up can usually do a lot so you don’t need much.

It´s absolute genital technique:) I use color compressor on a daily basis, but when it gets overdone, it looks unnatural. I help it by making the higlights a bit bluer. Just a bit of colour separation.

Your skin has subtle shifts in magenta and green and sometimes skin can look blotchy this helps unify it more. Also look at the cheeks for the difference. It is subtle but also KZbin compression sucks. Should have done a more extreme example I guess.

@JanikBrosFilms
@JanikBrosFilms 2 ай бұрын
It’s no joke. Just use the color compressor on the same node you qualify and pick the rgb value that looks like the best color on your skin if you don’t want to by the utility. The difference on mine was subtle shift but KZbin it might be hard to tell the difference maybe.
@wjm123
@wjm123 2 ай бұрын
had my face up to my screen to notice the difference, but ironically the "after" image seemed to have made the skin more green instead of the before one ?
@VitalieC
@VitalieC 2 ай бұрын
The before and after are not in sync with the voice. Pay attention to some areas, for example on the cheek, closer to the eye, how the yellowish/greenish tint goes more into red. This is hardly noticeable due to KZbin video compression.

Could not finish the video. Could not watch the changing colours on your face while watching the vector scope. Wish you well. Suggest you re-do this with much more care in scripting and after you discuss it with a knowledgeable friend, preferably a teacher. Step by step, some pauses, lots of consideration for a novice viewer and maybe you will do well. You are not alone in making these mistakes.
