Kudos to Rev Slim and his bubble of sound.When I started using his ideas the SACT disc really changed everything for my system. I found the Timing section seemed to nail everything pretty good and it was easily checked running the Speaker Pair section. Am I the only one who thinks Rev Slim is actually Ealan OsBourne with a little voice change LOL

Joe - this is EXACTLY what I was referring to with my other comment (Paul/Imaging/Tone) and that has been so very difficult to get rigjt/accurate in the past. I have resorted to "swapping around all of the RCA connections on the back of my Preamp processor (multiple times over) in order to get Test Tones between any and all speaker pairs (just as described here). It most definitely worked, however it's always a TON of work to do so. My gosh this Calibration disc is going to make this sooooo frig'n easy! Thank you so much you two. Ps. anyone on the fence about buying this Calibration disc, I can assure you that it is well worth the asking price... not only in Time saved (a ton of time), but also the end result accuracy that one (anyone) will be able to achieve... i.e. Perfection / the Best your system can be!

Channa, so far this section has been the most useful for me in getting the movie audio and action on-screen to match up nearly as well as I have been expecting it to be for so many years of my surround sound system journey. Many huge thank yous to you for your efforts on this "toolkit" and all of your other advice in your videos. Hopefully, I can make good use of the other sections to further enhance my pitiful rig. I do hope that you will continue to update the toolkit and may your efforts be well rewarded. One big request: Could you please consider adding to this section; files that use the right front speaker to center image the right side of the room instead of just the left front. Seems like I still have a bit of a panning issue on that side when objects move along that wall. Thanks, thanks and thanks again!

@@TheReverendSlimI'm so glad that you convinced them to produce this section! Currently, I feel it is the most important part of the "toolkit". Not that I am even close to your HT experience or intelligence, but I do believe we expect the same things from our audio experience and how to tune the gear. With a lot of luck I may be 1/10th as smart as you someday, but that is highly unlikely. I sure wish I had the means to get you here to help me with my meager, low buck 5.1.2 system. All the best, Kevin

Hi Joe, what is the advantage of doing this over the timing section of the calibration disc?
@joentell
@joentell Жыл бұрын
Due to the speaker's interaction with the room, it can affect the phase response and slight changes might sound better using this method. These are all just tools, so it's up to the user to determine how to beat utilize them and we might not all agree about how to do that. That's what's great about it.

Love the disc! And especially this (and the other Timings) section made so much difference. For me I actually had to make a lot of adjustments. I don't know if it's my room/the reflections, but I really had to dial it in. Could be the custom curve I added to Multeq-X that threw some stuff off, but I love the results!

Fantastic disc. But I am using the speaker pairs for getting the phantom image correct with speaker placement prior to running room correction. Not so much for dialing in the delays. That’s a lot more accurate using rew with acoustic timing reference that accounts for acoustical delays. Torture test with voice is really good, and square diamond object panning is fantastic . Using a 7.1.6 set up. Tonal balance is also very good! A lot of times I see people asking, how much levels to boost your surround backs post Room correction. (because of shape of ear and how we perceive sound from back compared to mic) ? Some tell u +2, +4,don’t boost. With the spatial disc, there is no need to guess… u can dial in the levels correctly.. superb disc. Supplements REW where u cannot measure imaging .. love the disc, great job guys! Congrats 🎉

Thank you for the feedback! We are happy that you're finding it useful. Changing the placement of speakers will always be the superior way to do it. The Haas, precedence effect, always plays a part that can't be replaced by level and delays.

I did the timing test first. Got that dialed in, then speaker pairs required me to change distances. I havent checked yet, but wont this now change the timing tests?
@ants9574
@ants9574 9 ай бұрын
The speaker pairs test should sound like they are coming from in between the speakers to really get imaging dialed in. It’s normal if you have to adjust more than a few increments to get it real dialed in along with the timing test, which is more about making sure things are happening at the same time as well as coming from in between the speakers.

Is there a way to adjust the timing after a Dirac calibration? Do you just adjust the distance? I believe the timing is locked after Dirac runs?
@joentell
@joentell Жыл бұрын
I don't think so. That was the issue I had on my NAD T778. There might be away, but I don't know how. I tried disabling the delay and gain in the Dirac software hoping that would allow me to set it manually, but that didn't work for me. It was still greyed out on my NAD.

Similar. The timing chapter is more about instantaneous impulses, which might help ensure that things are happening at the same time. The pairs use a static sound which might be helpful for imaging.

When you send it to the UK, our government tax us on the postage that means 23 dollars become 27 dollars. Your postage is very high to start with. I recently purchased a product from the US and the postage tracked was only 12 dollars, why is your postage cost so high.
@joentell
@joentell Жыл бұрын
The additional taxes are dependent on the cost of the product. We do not set the cost for shipping or taxes. It is set automatically by the service we use for shipping. If you want to save on shipping, you can reach out to American Audio Co UK to see if they still have some. We are looking for local distributors to help people save on shipping and import duties, because that's out of our control otherwise.
@michaeloconnor9465
@michaeloconnor9465 Жыл бұрын
@Joe N Tell You need to be aware that taxes are charged when the product arrives on the post and not only on the product. Here in the UK, they have come up with every stealth tax you imagine. If the product is 81 dollars and shipping 23 dollars, they charge tax on 104 dollars. And if a product is over 138 pounds then our government let's the courier firm charge a handling fee. That is why it is important that shipping costs are kept to the minimum to the UK and EU.
@joentell
@joentell Жыл бұрын
@@michaeloconnor9465 I don't deal with the website directly, but I think we even have a warning that comes up now when someone buys internationally that there might be additional costs that they need to be aware of prior to purchase.
