Well, I can't decide between several laser engravers. The cheaper ones are so limited, xTool F1 Ultra is too expensive for hobby. Recently I've seen lot of reviews of budget OmTech 40w CO2, MoPort 40w CO2, and few others. I like the Omtech with the tray in front, then I've read that MoPartb is little faster, better choice etc. then I saw MoPort has the MoPort 40w PRO with some free bundles (CW30) for $499, and I order the one with G-Code for $559. I don't own any in laser to know much about CW30 and G-Code (just read some recently). I don't even own a computer which I'll have to buy a cheap laptop.

I have a friend that uses a laser machine to engrave his poured silver.

I used that xTool F1 to do a 5 ounce pour and it looked pretty good. Trying to get a fiber laser to do some deeper engraving on silver.

I know the working area on this model is 8x10 but I’m wondering if an 8x10 piece of glass would fit in it? Or is the area literally 8x10 and so I would need a smaller piece of material?

@@timmie1013 it's actually 8x12 and if it's exactly 8x12 it will fit but there isn't really any extra room and there are no pass through slots like on the larger versions

@@RyanMercerthank you! I ordered mine just yesterday and want to go ahead and order some material for it. I was worried about ordering exactly 8x12 (typo in my first comment) because I didn’t know if I put it in, if I’d be able to get it back out, or if it would even fit under the frame. @@timmie1013 there is a plate in the bottom you can remove but it isn't the full work area which is just weird to me.

@@RyanMercerso if I buy exactly 8x12 then I can fit it in and still be able to get it back out? The site I’m looking at just so happens to have 8x12 as a size option

@@timmie1013 you should be able to, worst case get one of those suction cup glass litter things. I out 8x12 sheets of plywood in fine.
