Dear Ms. Poon: Over the years I have enjoyed watching your videos and listening to you play. You tend to be VERY critical of yourself. As a person who was able to play the 5 Beethoven Concertos as a teen, I believe you are OVERLY CRITICAL. I believe you play quite beautifully and transmit your love of the music well beyond your wonderful technical abilities. Please do NOT assume that even people who play are as CRITICAL of you as you are. We love what you do. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

Tiffany, Have been following your journey since the beginning and I remember you saying that one of the main aims of your channel was to make Classical Music and the people behind the instruments more human, transcending its polished exterior culture and diving into its interior joys, fascinations, imagination, transformations as well as its emotional and mental struggles that are made to be overcome. In short, that Classical Music is a living art, and the players that play it are also human. A very loaded message and theme. But you cover it so beautifully in every single one of your videos. Before discovering your channel (even as someone who has studied Piano Composition for 8 years) I used to love Classical Music as music, but, at every single conclusion of your videos, I feel that Classical Music is becoming more and more like a friend that is there for me, whom I can always rely upon for support. You are changing the landscape of Classical Music one heart at a time. Thank you for supporting the Classical community and deepening their experiences with music. May the beauty of this spread far and wide.

Marvelous vlog. As I watched this, it triggered memories of the early days. I’ve enjoyed following your journey. You are truly an inspiration and an awesome role model. There’s always such a warm human quality to your vlogs and that makes it real and not contrived and connects with the audience so authentically. Watching you eat your meals, prepare your meals, sharing with us your moods and feelings, commenting how awkward you feel even though you’ve been doing this for a while - it’s the salt-of-the-earth feel that really connects. Thank you for your work and your life that you share with all of us. I am grateful to have the privilege of this experience to journey with you. Happy New Year to you and your family 🎹❣️

Here's a few little pointers about this video, and your videos in general: First, pretty random but love your dressing style! Second, it's very inspiring to see that mood change from relaxed, tired, all that to the show time mood - it's a relatively subtle but very interesting thing to watch in real time.. when the time comes to perform is like the air changes and you get into a unique frame of mind which is inspiring, if that makes sense. And lastly, love the subtle way you promote your podcast, it's so well integrated that it may as well just be a part of the video.

Wow Croatia , what a delight this video is . One thing that really made me so happy , was seeing just how well you now regenerate your emotions after performing , a skill that really is truly worthy of sharing and teaching . It’s one of those subject that has fascinated me , right from the the time that Romanticism became philosophised and subsequently analysed in the arts . Just before the nineteenth century it became a taboo as there were so many bad interpretations and forms of the philosophy , based around the traditional founders of “ human emotion and expression in the arts “ . Although stemming from Romanticism , it was humour that entertained the subtle differences in what we consider “ Romantic “ . I wonder if it’s the Schumann in you Tiffany , that has helped with this !. I should imagine so . But perhaps also that you had to deal with the “ wired action “ and as such , you just felt a need to excel before it all became an overwhelming process of questions to oneself .

@@maplecozy Do not let your fandom cloud your musically critical facility. You are obviously unfamiliar with Wang's performance history, and listen with a fanatic ear. Tiffany, much as I love her approach, skill, and aspirations, is yet to be a finished virtuoso like Yuja Wang. Your rather sexist allusion to Yuja's dress is fine for you, as Tiffany seems more modest in dress. But that has nothing to do with musical accomplishment. really love your vlogs. I know they take a lot of time and appreciate that you spent the hours on thanksgiving preparing this. Have followed you from the beginning. I'm not likely to go to spotify so hope you continue with vlogging as much as you can. Question: I always wonder about the encores. As an audience member, I am never sure if there will be another encore or not - how do you judge that? Has there ever been a hesitation or thinking if there should be another? Or do you always presume you will have them? Sometimes when the performer leaves the stage and then with continued applause, they come back on - but lots of times they take too long before coming back out and it feels very awkward to me.

A couple of things stood out for me here. Your mistake which wasn't really a mistake, since it was harmonically correct. I think I've been there, like, "It was wrong, but it still worked." Your weird piano actions, I'm guessing their tech intentionally sets all their pianos that way, for whatever reason. It reminded me of another pianist whom I follow who has a Yamaha acoustic grand in her apartment which has a built-in digital piano, where the dual key actions make it challenging to control nuanced soft dynamics on the acoustic side. It was also interesting to see your groggy jet-lagged self looking for your center by playing some Bach and willing the world around you to quiet down. That reminds me of me, only in my case, it's Stevie Wonder. Congrats on the concert. It seems to have gone really well, despite the initial hiccups.
