You have to take into account if you're going to a Western wedding or a Wedding with a different cultural background. I went to a Chinese banquet dinner. Black is considered unlucky (more of a colour that's not recommended) and yet lots of people wore it. Lots of my girlfriends also wore cream. I never took off my jacket. Not all weddings are all about the white dress. Chinese banquets are more focused on the red gown.

In Hong Kong/China, a lot of the brides wear up to 7-8 dresses and from what I know, it's not a problem for guests to wear white."

In asia, it's fine to wear white (and black too) in a wedding, and the wedding dress color for the night party isn't only white, the bride can wear any color she liked. Also keep in mind that Asian and Western culture is different.

It's true. In Vietnam you can pretty much wear any color you like, because we for a fact know that nobody is as beautiful as the bride on her wedding day:)

The bride's colour is red in southeast Asia, unlike western weddings so nope, her wearing white is not a problem, a no-go or any big deal at all.

Did it ever occur to you that there are other cultures besides the western culture, and that different cultures have different wedding customs? For example, at Kate Middleton's wedding the bridesmaids wore white. That is the custom in their culture. The same goes for the culture in Hong Kong. The bride wears several different colored dresses there and so it doesn't matter if the guests wear white.

They are really good doggies. Chubbi is a bit more mischievous and Domo is a bit clumsy (sometimes misses the doggy pad when he pees/poos) but I can honestly say they are well behaved pups. Very blessed to have them in my life.

She went to a Chinese wedding and in that culture the bride doesn't always wear a white dress. They actually wear many different colored dressed throughout the event and the guests are allowed to wear any color they want. The white thing is only in our culture

Read the description please. It's cream and she wore a pink blazer throughout the wedding. And us Chinese don't care what you wear to a wedding. We change a lot throughout the wedding so it really doesn't matter. It's our tradition. Hope I didn't sound too rude here.

I've been going to weddings my entire life, and I've worn white and creme on more than one occasion, hell, I've been to a handful of weddings that were themed, which required all the women to wear white and all the men to wear black. The last wedding I went to, the bridesmaids were in creme colored dresses. So really I think it's depends on the person.

I personally think that it's not a big deal.People should concentrate on bride and groom spending rest of lives together rather than exterior. I went to a Chinese themed wedding which meant the bride wore 6-7 dresses of different colours. Nobody can top that. If this is the case, the ladies won't be able to wear a lot of colours. I'm having a Western ceremony for my wedding next August and honestly, I don't even care if people wear white. I'm getting married and to me- that's all that matters =)
