@@ricknineg This is one of those cases like "flammable," where misuse over decades eventually led to the wrong usage being declared correct because it was so common. It's literally a portmanteau of "electric" and "execution," and in older dictionaries refers only to death by electric current. In the very early 1970's you could buy a plastic box that had "Candy Cigarettes" printed on the top of it with two metal tabs on the side of it. Inside of this plastic box was a 9 volt battery and not "Candy Cigarettes." Pulling the palm sized box open, connected a metal switch to an induction coil producing 15k volts. It gave a health jolt but had a large resistor in series to limit the current from killing someone. People started getting smart and removing this in series resister making people jump about 1 foot off the ground. Everyone in the class room would laugh. That was until we found out that people were being killed by this toy box. This was either 1970 or 1971. All sales of this device were banned. The actor was probably using a similar device in the middle 1960's.

There used to be a fake book you could buy that worked on the same principle, around 1980. I saw one at Zeezo's Magic Castle in the Cinderella City mall. It appeared to be a porn book. You'd open it up, hoping to see some pornography, and the electronics were exposed inside so you'd have a fraction of a second to realize you had made a mistake. Then you would get a healthy shock. I recall that it also used a 9V battery.

He was supposed to make the jump look smooth and easy, but as he leapt in his groin hit the top edge of the closed passenger door. Adams said that this wasn’t staged, and his balls got hurt.
