Get Started Fishing San Luis Reservoir

On this trip, I show you how to get started fishing San Luis Reservoir. Or at least how I do it. I started the trip in the afternoon. Usually around this time, it's real slow but trolling the Tackle Builders Atlas Rigs, I was able to hookup almost immediately. I started off in the Lone Oak area and moved into the Basalt area by Bay of Pigs. I caught most of my catches there and it was holding alot of fish that were very active as well. I was hooking into doubles on several passes trolling the Atlas Rigs. Try some of the tips in my video next time you hit up San Luis Reservoir.

I'm happy to know I've inspired you. As long as it floats, you can turn it into a fishing boat. I've taken my boat out on San Luis on windy days and out in San Francisco bay and it handles the rough waters pretty well. And definitely get out there n fish. Tight lines brother

I just found your video, do you make all of your umbrella rigs? I want to try umbrella rigs for delta fishing but I don’t know what rig to buy for trolling for stripers

Hey Ron, yes I make my umbrella rigs. For the delta, try the chartreuse or sexy shad colors. They like the brighter colors there. Good luck!

What line are you using bro ?

I'm using 30lb mono and 80lb braid. The 80lb braid is as thick as the 30lb mono so the downrigger clips hold it better
