When trolling, stinger hooks in the tail are CRUCIAL. Check your state's regs tho, lots of places dont allow it....

Three trebles!!!...just killing fish you don't keep..get rid of two of them..leave the middle...so much easier to handle fish and they won't die from the long time it takes to unhook multiple trebles, extra wounds, etc. Striper mortality jumps up quickly when fish are injured or spend time out of the water. Warm freshwater striper mortality can be 40% or higher. Due your part to keep em healthy and get less hooks stuck in your hand and nets.

@MengXyong do you think using something like a jet diver or dipsy diver would work? I wouldn't be using an umbrella rig, simply because i do not have one.

There is no such thing as "dungeons crab." The name is "Dungeness crab," named for the Dungeness Spit on the coastline of Washington. I have no idea where people came up with this non-existent name!

Hi Meng, This is an excellent video detailing how you troll those rigs. I appreciate you sharing this technique. I primarily fish from a motorized kayak. I may try to troll some of these rigs from the kayak and to locate stripers like you have done here. It looks like a lot of fun to hook up with multiples. I may make the drive to San Luis from Fresno in the next week or two and give it a shot. Thanks again, I subscribed. Now I have to go watch more of your videos 😉

Please clarify…your trolling motor’s primary use is to guide, not power the boat? The 2.5 mph trolling speed is achieved with gas powered motor(s)? What is your battery setup for your Terrova, 24v or 36v…lead acid or lithium? What is the striper bag limit at San Luis? What weather apps do you rely on to not get caught in San Luis’ treacherous and infamous winds? Thanks!
@MengXyong10 ай бұрын
Yes primary roll for trolling motor is to guide boat so I can easily fish in the back. Speed is achieved with main engine. It’s a 24v trolling motor with lead acid batteries. Striper bag limit is 2. Best bet is to call the kiosk bf going. Weather apps are not accurate.
