I installed the latest live image on a pendrive with unallocated space. The flash to pendrive was successful, but when i boot from the drive, a CLI appears stating "grub>" and allows for an input, when i type something, it gives an error stating "kernel not found at [what i typed]", searched Google, but did not get any solution to my specific problem, there are similar problems which suggest that files on pendrive might be corupt, but this does not seem to be the case with me though, please help.

How to make Kali linux bootable ? But you need persistence ,it's very important. Tools you can use . 1)Rufus 2)Unetbootin 3)Universal USB installer . Now let's say you don't want to use any tools then . You can use linux machine . There are two ways : 1)USB image installer option. 2)Through terminal ....Sudo dd if =image location of=USB device.

You need to use Gparted, create a new partition in the same drive and then assign that free space to store data. Or you can use 2 usb drives, one to boot in to the system, the other to install the OS on.
