I’ve just spent a couple of hours messing around trying to get a fluid sim to look good. Wish I’d spent another five minutes searching youtube for this. Tomorrow my render will be sorted though. 👍

Man I was really hoping this tute would cover the new pbd fluids and/or fluidfx dynamic solvers because I built a sim with the flip domain last year that I couldn't get to make realistic splashes or behave like fluid at all when animating objects THROUGH it. Seems like the flip solver only works well when having fluid run over objects especially stationary objects rather than have any realistic splashes or wave behaviors. I've seen the demos from insydium using pbd and fluidfx to generate more realistic waves, wake, and splashes but no one has released tutorials or info on how to do so yet. Anybody know how?

How would you make a "pool" of liquid without an emitter? So that there's liquid in a contained field, and you can drop objects into it.
@Greyscalegorilla6 жыл бұрын
Try emitting particles in a volume to create the pool of liquid.

Nick, I'm probably late to the party, but "Gauss" rhymes with "mouse," because Carl Friedrich Gauss was German.

I think they renamed Flip Domain as XPDomain. It's under Dynamics.
