I've been using the victorinox dule knife sharpener works very well

I agree. I use mine a lot. Not the pull through sharpener, but the stone is really good

Great demonstration Mark! I like this sharpener. I have a very similar one

Thanks Randy. This works really well. Easy and quick to sharpen even from blunt.

Decent budget diamond stone! Nice demo video Mark, personally I only push sharpen, but if it works for you, it works!

Thanks Slippy. I have just been trying out the push/pull method. It has a benefit in that you don't lift the knife blade off the stone and so are less likely to lose the angle. @OUTDOORS55 has gone through this really well in a video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGWwp3mtmcd3Z9ksi=FWU0BJNqkg7FyAdx. But in the end, as you say, it's whatever works for you...

@MB_EDC exactly that, Mark! If it works for you don't let anyone say you're wrong

Great video Mark, nice to see the push-pull method is working for you

Thanks Elan. It makes sense to push and pull. More efficient!

Well done sir, well done! 8:55 - Im fairly convinced that if you stropped this on fine leather with a good compound, it would be
@MB_EDC3 ай бұрын
I do strop. Often more than sharpening. But rarely worry about getting it shaving sharp as that is more of a vanity and it doesn't keep an edge for as long if I go too sharp

For victorinox and other small knives i use a diamond pen type pocket sharpening rod. It's perfect and once ran over a strop they are perfect.

Sounds good. I use the Victorinox dual knife sharpener a lot for my smaller blades, plus stropping of course!!!

I'm not questioning your sharpening method, if it works it works! You can search *Neeves Knives* sharpening videos, he does this method where he locks his wrist and lifts the elbow while moving the blade on the stone to get the whole grind in one swoop! I don't think he did a tutorial specifically on a victorinox, but the basics are the same!
@MB_EDC3 ай бұрын
That is a good point. I can do that for some knives. Sometimes it's easier to do it in two sections.
@BennyCFD2 ай бұрын
Nice video......But never say a knife is shaving sharp unless you shave with it at the end of the video
@MB_EDC2 ай бұрын
Thanks. I did say "I wouldn't say that was shaving sharp", twice around the 08:50 mark. To get it sharper I would strop. Generally I don't need it that sharp and I find I don't have to resharpen so often.

NEVER TOUCH IT FFS!!! Your fingers have fat on them, so do not touch the surface of the stone!!!
@MB_EDC2 ай бұрын
And what does that do?
@matteedstrom2 ай бұрын
@@MB_EDC The fat from your fingers makes the stones work worse.
@MB_EDC2 ай бұрын
@matteedstrom OK. But you can clean them...
@MB_EDC2 ай бұрын
@ Ok. I'll best that in mind. But these stones can be cleaned
@CiderPang2715 күн бұрын
Omg, touch mine all the time and its never affected the stone in any way. 😂
