Get the buzz on honey bees with Kathryn Knowles, an Apiary Research Assistant at the Honey Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph. Join us as we explore the intriguing world of honey bees by taking a look inside the hive! Kathryn expertly unlocks the mysteries of the complex social system of bees and helps us identify worker bees, drones, and the elusive queen bee!
Throughout history, honey bees have always fascinated people and with good reason. Our pollen-collecting friends play a key role in agricultural productivity and ecosystem sustainability by pollinating flowers, fruit, and vegetables. They are responsible for most of our food production. Plus, they also produce delicious honey.
