Just found this video, and I am subbing you and getting that Decimator II. Pricy, yes. Worth it, oh yeah. Thanks for this video. You play guitar like I dream about. I am no soloist (working on that) but I do play; mainly rhythm. I will check your channel out. You rock man.

You can still hear the hum at 5:17 since it's just a noise gate :,( God I hate electromagnetic interference, I have the same problem in my house and it drives me insane. Can't use a delay at a higher volume than 2 in my amp because the noise will ruin it

I used the boss and it works well. Thing is, when using high gain, the threshold delay allows a quick bit of buzz. No tweaking of the release, etc helps. I may try the decimater and see if it works better.

I can still hear the feedback when you moved to your left with the Decimator II on before you strummed the guitar at 3:01. I'm surprised you still uploaded the video.

Nothing like 60 cycle hum, and the ISP decimator saves the day ! I find the 5150 15 watt was very noisy and its cause it uses a tube for the effects loop, which will cause a lot of noise my old 5150 head has the same problem. With the 5150 3 combo it uses solid state which has no noise if using g string isp decimator.But for the 15 watt head i use two of these isp decimator 2's in front and effects loop but you may still get some noise so braid you effects loops cables and it will help cancel out the noise its also the transformer as well that cause this noise too !

I use the EHX HumDeBugger, it adds a bit of choruslike tone, but I actually like it, and its NOT a noise gate!

Did you try the Hum X on the clean channel? Considering the amount of gain you're using the noise gate was the best application. The Hum X is designed to break ground loop hum on the power source of the amp. It is not designed to reduce hum with heavy gain or pickups.

I am getting a lot noise out of the "Ultra High Gain" options in a Korg Pandora Stomp Multi-Effects Pedal (an inherent problem with this pedal) & I was wondering if you think that this ISP-Tech Decimator ll NR Pedal might help eliminate this problem. I don't get any detectible noise when the using the cleaner to partially dirty program sounds in it but the "Ultra High Gain" sounds are just intolerable. I am trying some cheaper options first before I go all out & buy a $135 pedal; but if it comes to this, do you think it will work?
@xstyler233 жыл бұрын
OK, you discovered a noise gate. jesus. I thought you will say stuff about electricity. p.s. I still can hear that noise through your guitar tone.

Same problem with so many demos of these products: Use some rests in your music! Constant diarrhea-like notes do not reveal the noise. Sparse playing with rests will reveal it.

Ok, you have simpli put a noise gate after the guitar signal. This works (not completely, thus in some positions hum is still to hear when you have turned sitting in the chair) so far you play always at high speed without to let any note sound some seconds long. Furthermore you have a just confused and too much low-dynamic sound, so the tone variations introduced with a noise gate set at hihg theresold is less perceptible, but if you would play with a kind of sound less charged with so much effects interation the tone variation would be clearly perceptible, that means the true tone of your guitar doesn't completely comes into the amp. You should best investigate about the causes of all that hum: there is a lot more you could try before to consider such noise gate so important. If you would at least reduce the hum you coud use the noise gate at a different thresold, keeping a lot more ot the guitar original tone even getting rid of the hum. And please, try to use effects so your sound becomes better defined and not so as it would pass through a spaghetti plate.

Don’t buy the hum x ... doesn’t work
@MorleyProducts2 жыл бұрын
It does work, but it's designed specifically to break ground loop hum. If it did not work in your application then the hum is coming from elsewhere.
@heyjarrodАй бұрын
That wasn’t a hum. A decimator will not knock out a hum. But it is great for most everything else-like dirty power, or issues with cabling.
