I have carbon handlebar, insta 360 bike mount doesn't fit so this kit is going to help me capture the best footage on the bike. Well done for a great find.

Thanks for answering my question with this thorough review of the Insta360 Bike clamp. I just picked up the x3 from Costco for $419 and got the extra battery kit with the invisible selfie stick. It also came with an SD card and a lens protector.

Thanks so much for this. I've had the same problem with Insta360 brand stem bike mount. I already owned the metal mount you are talking about, which I used for my GoPro. Now I plan on using it instead of the Insta mount. You saved me some heartache because I might have used a plastic camera attachment as you did. Instead, I ordered the the aluminum one you recommended. I hope yours is still holding up.

@@Forest_velo For anyone wondering, I tried the 2024 Insta bar mount and stem cap mounts and neither work to hold the weight of the X4 camera on the selfie stick over road bumps, even fully retracted, though they show the selfie setup in the product pics.

Got My package today and tested it, both the handlebar mount and the HSU. Sorry sir, it's a rubbish. Although it's metal and it's stiffer, the 1/4'' mount slips down under weight of camera+stick just like the chinesse ones. You need an extra locking nut on the other side to "press" the thing tightly. Or somehow put a thin rubber washer in between. Maybe it will work. Did yours came with a fancy tool, looking like a small wrench key? I was wondering what that is cause it just doesn't fit to any part of that mount.

Sorry you haven’t had much luck. I turned it round so the direction of movement was left to right not up and down I think. Yes the spanner is for tightening thumbscrews. I’ve moved on now to an insta360 mount out front.

Do you have any thoughts/opinions on using/adapting Any 360-type camera, not just Insta360, as rear-view camera on E-bikes, similar to vehicles rear-view cameras?

Hi Never tried it… not sure how long the battery would last if it’s on continuously. Maybe 2hrs?

Thinking of one of these but the bars are oval where the stem is bit then I can mount further in as it would crush the cable under the bar tape? So limited …. Shame no way (don’t think) to mount this from the stem?

Yes, aero bars or oval ones do make it difficult. You might fit a clamp over a round stem if you have one.

Thanks, no can’t do stem and can’t put on bars and don’t really want it stuck sticking up on helmets… mmmm buggered

Although not recommended, for shorter clips, I often just hold the camera next to the shifter with my hand as I’m gripping the bars!

I’ve also thought of just strapping the selfie stick on top of the stem with some packing in between!

I tried third-party different bike mounts also because I thought that the original dedicated bike mount that insta 360 provided was too expensive and I failed! it is a waste of money! So later on I bought the motorcycle bundle because I'm planning to use it offroad and also attached it to my Escooter and it works better! but if you will use it on plain road only get the proper bike bundle. buying the proper bundle that they provide will make your life easier! although it is quite expensive less stress and you will enjoy your ride and enjoy what you really doing!

Hi, thanks for the video. i bought the items you suggested but the mount is too loose and isnt secure enough to hold the 360 alone and def not the mount. also how do you get the 360 at the right angle? when it's screwed on its at an angle

Hi! I found I could do the mount up quite tight on my aluminium bars. I also put a bit of old inner tube around the bars to help/stop scratching. If you’re filming 360 the angle of the camera shouldn’t matter too much unless the stitch line is exactly where you want to film. If it is I turn the fitting on the mount until the camera is at the right angle. Hope this helps!

Be carefull on bumpie surfaces though. I broke my X2 twice at the tripod mount on the bottom. I've tried several mounting options which all work well on smooth surface but because of the rectangular shape and the weight of the camera it tends to break so be carefull. I do miss my X2 :(

I did lose mine on its first outing! The plastic mount broke 😬. Luckily it was ok!

Hi! I think it would be more stable but it’s quite a fixed position so a little less creative. But if that’s the main shot you’re after it’s probably pretty good from what I’ve seen.
