Legions of vintage and antique vendors bring their best to Florida's huge Mount Dora Antique Extravaganza in this tantalizing video! There's so much to see in this one, and a lot of fun people...‪@TheNurseFlipper‬ , ‪@LakeshoreFinds‬ and other great social media friends of ours come to shop, sell and hang out with me at this hugely varied antique show, mall, shops and flea market-all located next to one another!
We shop the booth of a viewer doing her first ever 'real world' antique show, where Alaskan figures look a little overdressed for Florida...so we'll take them back to the Northwest! Cool cocktail shakers, a bargain priced Blenko piece...we find some great deals to sell in our booth while we're out filming and visiting friends.
But it's not just what we buy to flip for a profit that captures our interest. We see an amazing pair of full-size figural lamps worth many thousands, discover a map that could put us at war with England, and learn Transcendentalism from Ralph Waldo Emerson. From slave cribs to the fanciest oak ice box ever, there's so much to discover at this huge antique and vintage show!

Hi George, Sorry in advance, for the long text. 😅 You are so sweet and kind to those of us that are trying to venture into their passion and love for vintage and antiques. Thank you for featuring my little spot. I plan to start soon with my eBay store, “Cottage Collectibles”. I have recently retired from a real estate career, selling new homes. And new homes need these beautiful antiques to separate them from the everyday mundane copy cat stuff that is out in the retail stores. I’m so excited to get started and maybe even have a utube channel one day. Everyone that has started a channel, say, their only regret was not starting sooner. I think I’m a little scaredy cat! 😉🤣 George, I firmly believe, those that help others help themselves. I believe your popularity is expanding due to your generosity and knowledge. Your vast knowledge is helpful to those that specialize in different areas. I like it all, glass, pottery, china, art, handbags, just anything that is unique or well made. I started going to antique stores when I was in my 20’s. While my friends were at the mall looking for the latest, trendiest, item to purchase, I was looking at and loving all the oldest stuff I could find. The only problem, I couldn’t afford anything. Prices today are so much more affordable. I still can’t believe folks don’t look to purchase more from antiques and vintage to purchase quality and not have a home that looks like everyone else’s. The more quality, the more unique, the better. I love you George, and hope to see you again soon! ❤️

Hello, Our family is a George fan, too. I, personally, love how George introduces new people to the vast youtube following community! Everyone I know prefers youtube to cable t.v. His knowledge is so impressive. And, the fact that he so graciously shares that knowledge just gives hope to humanity. Seriously! We need that today. I hope that George has inspired you to take to the youtube community. I bet that you would be welcomed quickly. I will be looking for your channel. I am sure George would give you a shout-out, too. Good luck to you! Sincerely, Di.

Wish antique stores would provide more info about their items as it provides for more interesting shopping! I appreciate all your knowledge. I found one of those life size nativity cutouts from a lady that had them stored under a porch… was at her farm buying wooden crates and when I saw it I had to have it!! Got it for $20!! Everything was there and in perfect condition except for the camel… He was losing the graphics and his paper was peeling…. I had just started a booth in Poulsbo WA…. Once I got them home I saw they were SIGNED!!! I can’t recall the name right now but he was a famous mid century illustrator…. It sold in less than 2 days for $400!!! Which just told me I sold it too cheap! Lol I wish I could upload a pic… but that was a great great find!!! Thanks for reminding me! Oh and I used to live in Davenport just southeast of Mt Dora… sorry I never made it up there now☹️

RE: 16:35 I would think that a "loved" carnival glass piece would hold some of it's value, while I can appreciate that a pristine (unused) piece would command top-dollar, there's a certain charm to knowing a piece was actually used for the purpose that was intended.

That was a beautiful butternut piece. The reason that it is similar to walnut is because it IS walnut, white walnut as opposed to black walnut. Butternut trees grow in Illinois (I gathered them as a kid). They also grow in Missouri and Arkansas.I don't believe they're very common anymore.
